Once Maria had her knee taped in the second set, she couldn't push off on her FHs as well as she normally would.

Never became visibly uncomfortable, because she's such a pro, but that timeout allowed Alona to chat with her sister and seemed to really energize Alona.

What happened Maria? Really surprised about this as Alona has been playing terribly of late.

The number 23 beats the number 27 of the world rankings in three sets - an exact mirror image of the ranking.
I think Alona has deserved the win, she missed some good chances in the first set.
