Good quarter with JJ.
Sveta and Maria in the same quarter.
Insane draw

Feb 23rd, 2008, 07:51 PM
This time no excuses if Anna doesn't win 1st and 2nd match against Safina.

The draw is nice and if Anna plays well she can reach semifinal (and lose again with Sharapova :lol::lol:)

Feb 23rd, 2008, 11:24 PM
Vamos!! Anna!!

Feb 23rd, 2008, 11:34 PM

Go Anna:bigclap::bigclap::bigclap:

 Ugh, horrible first round draw. The qualies here are so strong it's ridiculous.

I'd say Anna's 50/50 for the win here. Her form is totally up-and-down, no idea whether she's feeling confident or not. Radwanska may however be tired after playing a lot in the last week. I've no idea who will win this one.

Feb 25th, 2008, 05:58 PM
The way Anna is playing, I think Aga has a big chance.
Then she can rest for IW.
Anna has big points coming off in Miami

Feb 25th, 2008, 07:22 PM
aga'll be a little bit tired, I bet for Anna..... good luck chaky :yeah:

Feb 25th, 2008, 08:02 PM
Chakvetadze vs Radwanska :scared:. A lot of luck tomorrow Anna.DAVAI!!!

Feb 25th, 2008, 08:14 PM
Best of luck Anna  :bounce::bounce: (Can't stand this Radwanska :o)

Feb 25th, 2008, 09:41 PM
I like Radwanska, but I like Anna a lot more! ;)

I hope Anna has healed up from her injuries and is in a better state of mind now too. If she can get past Radwanska she could do some damage in this tournament and I would love to see her play deep into it.

Good luck Anna! :)

62 26 64. She should have played like that last week,.

You act like wins come out of a magic box, and all she has to do is open it and she wins.... :tape:
It's like saying that Manchester United should ALWAYS win over any other club, .. it just doesn't work that
way, you gotta feel alright when you get on the field/court, and most of the time you know before the match
starts if you're up to it or not.

Feb 26th, 2008, 12:21 PM
expected win, Congrats Anna :yeah:..... she don't fall twice with the same stone, get the revenge against Dinara

Feb 26th, 2008, 12:28 PM
Well done Anna! Good luck vs Dinara. is it tomorrow ?

Pink Princess
Feb 26th, 2008, 12:45 PM

Anna did 41 winners, when she has patience and does not rush is very superior to your opponent, the problem is when she does absurd unforced errors or dfs, it is what it is necessary to correct.

Go Anna tomorrow!!!

Feb 26th, 2008, 12:49 PM
good win Anna :yeah:

Feb 26th, 2008, 01:15 PM
11 dfs= almost 3 service games given to the oponent for free...Besides that, Anna played good, but she must be careful vs Safina...

Feb 26th, 2008, 02:15 PM
Excluding her Paris' results, this is just Anna's second win for this year. The other match she actually played and won is against Kleybanova in AO. And now a third set win against Radwanska who is most probably tired from playing so many matches. I'm not liking her chances against Safina. I hope she proves me wrong.

Feb 26th, 2008, 02:27 PM
A good win for Anna :bigclap:

I think she will beat Dinara :bigclap:

:yeah: It's important for Anna psychologically to get a win like this over an in-form player. I don't know whether a more rested Radwanska would have made it even more difficult but I'm glad Anna hit so many winners.

Anna could do with a higher 1st serve percentage and obviously try to cut down on all the DFs. If you look at the stats Aga could only must 25% on 1st serve return so it really helps Anna enormously to get the first serve in.

Feb 26th, 2008, 08:28 PM
Good win Anna.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/02/26/sports/ME-SPT-TEN-Dubai-Championships.php#): Sixth-ranked Anna Chakvetadze ended a two-match losing streak when she beat in-form Polish star Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the Dubai Championships first round on Tuesday.
Australian Open champion Maria Sharapova withdrew with a viral illness, but former champion and No. 1 Amelie Mauresmo advanced.
Chakvetadze hadn't won a match since claiming her seventh career title at the Paris Indoors at the start of the month, and faced a strong challenge from Radwanska who in her last events won at Pattaya City and reached the semifinals in Doha but had to qualify here.
The Russian squandered a 5-2 lead in the third set before setting up a match with compatriot Dinara Safna next.
"I am slowly regaining my rhythm and winning Paris was good for me, but that was indoors," Chakvetadze said.

"I lost my first match in Doha and knew I had a tough opponent in Agnieszka here. She played really well, but I should have won in two sets because I let go many chances to break her in the second. But I am happy to have played a tough opening round. I am already feeling a lot better about my game."
Unseeded Mauresmo

Feb 26th, 2008, 10:35 PM
Russian beauty Anna Chakvetadze overcame lapses in concentration in the second and third sets, to romp home to a 6-2 2-6 6-4 first round win over promising world top 20 player, Agnieszka Radwanska.
The fast rising Pole with a last eight appearance in the Australian Open, a second WTA Tour title in Pattaya, followed by a semifinal show in Doha last week, seemed to be fighting back when she cut the lead from 2-5 to 4-5 in the third set.
Anna, now seemingly fully recovered from a personal incident back home in Moscow, served brilliantly in the 10th game to finish off the issue at 6-4 and for a second round meeting against fellow Russian Dinara Safina.
“I was up 30-0 and 40-0 on many occasions during the match but could not capitalise on the opportunities that came my way,” said Anna, ranked sixth in the world.
“Agnieszka is always dangerous and she has the reputation of clinging on till the very end. She is talented and it was not an easy match.”
One must bear in mind that the 18-year-old Polish star had to go through three rounds of hard fought qualifying games here despite being ranked 20 in the world.
Perhaps a late entry would have left her out of an automatic qualification for the main draw for which the cut-off mark was 21.

Two good wins already :bigclap:

Now time to beat Jankobitch once again :bounce:

Feb 27th, 2008, 02:38 PM
For Anna to make the final she has to beat good players.
But this could make up for last week.

Feb 27th, 2008, 03:36 PM
Good that Anna fight in this Match and after 3 hours she can win.

Now against Jelena is a great opportunity to make the semifinal, good luck Anna.

Feb 27th, 2008, 05:39 PM
Good job Anna! :D

That was another tough one. I see she served another 11 DFs. Is she trying to get more power on her second serve?

Jankovic went three sets as well. At least Anna has a good record against her but 5 of their matches have gone the distance. This has a good chance of doing the same.

Feb 27th, 2008, 07:52 PM
ANNA:banana:Less badly that here in Spain they have not televised the party because it had given me a heart attack:lol:

Looks like Anna has fought well in two very tough early round matches. Jelena has not been in the best of health this year I don't believe either so this is a good test for Anna. Fight to the last point and stay healthy Anna!

Anna lost by retirement:sad:....... anybody knows what happened to her?

Feb 28th, 2008, 12:34 PM
Anna retired. I guess she's off until Miami, when she has SF points coming off

Feb 28th, 2008, 12:47 PM
Anna starts the match with a little bandage on the right leg, then take a medical timeout at 1-4.

Jelena play well this time, but I see from the start that Anna is unhappy because she cannot fight at 100%, I hope it's only a little injury because she move well on the court, maybe not like usual, but not so bad.

Feb 28th, 2008, 01:17 PM
