MARIA INTO DOHA QUARTERS

Maria has booked her spot in the quarters in Doha after she scored a straight sets win over Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand. Maria triumphed 6-2 6-2 in 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Maria has now won 11 straight matches this year (7 at the Australian Open, 2 in Fed Cup and 2 in Doha).

In the 1st set it was level 2-2 and Maria then took the next 4 games to take the set 6-2 in 38 minutes.

The 2nd set was an exact repeat of the 1st as Maria powered her way into the quarters.

Maria will play #53 Danish teenager Caroline Wozniacki in the quarters on Friday. They have never played before in WTA competition but they did play an exhibition in Hong Kong at the beginning of January and Maria won in straight sets.

I don't remember Maria saying that.:confused: And I don't think that Radwanska moving in on Maria 's serve really bothered her. Maria's shoulder injury last year and her serve which was hampered by that injury was the real problem.
