Karin KNAPP: Huge jump in the WR for Karin who reached her ever 1rst Final on the WTA tour. She did it in a big event at Antwerp Tire II $600K. During that amazing week, she ousted 4th seed/n°13 Schnyder and 9th seed/n°33 Na en route before falling to local favourite Top seed/n°1 Henin.

Pauline PARMENTIER: The in form french 2007 revelation is still rising, brealking the Top 50 this week after reaching her 1rst season SF at Vina del Mar Tier III $200K falling to Top seed/n°32 and eventual winner Pennetta.

Timea BACZINSZKY: At least a breakthrough for that swiss prodigy revealed a couple of years ago. She was struggling a little bit with her confidence and the expectations...but she seems to have reached another level since the beginning of the year. Last week, she performed her ever best WTA Tour results:SF as a qualifer() at Antwerp Tier II upsetting 3rd seed/n° Hantuchova before losing to Top seed/n°1 Henin in 3 sets!

Alisa KLEYBANOVA: One of the beginning of the year revelation (she wasz ranked 156 at the end of 2007), Alisa made the 2nd best run (after Baczinszky) at Antwerp reaching the QF as a qualifer. In the qualies, she ousted Top seed/n°66 back in form Arvidsson. She pushed the pressure on her game a little bit more to beat recent runner up in Paris 6th seed/n°18 Szavay en route before falling to Top seed/n°1 Henin.

FASTER MOVEMENTS IN THE TOP 10, 20, 50, 100, 150 and 200

TOP 10:
Svetlana KUZNETSOVA n°2 (+1): Svetlana is back to the 2nd position in the world without playing and overtaking serb sensation Ivanovic.

TOP 20:
Nicole VAIDISOVA n°14 (+2): Like Kuznetsova, Nicole is up without really deserving it. She dind't play but benefits from some other players slumping in the world ranking.

TOP 50:
Karin KNAPP n°36 (+11): see above.

TOP 100:
Timea BACSINSZKY n°61 (+33): see above

TOP 150:
Nuria LLAGOSTERA VIVES n°114 (+21):The clay season is already back...with all the clay specialists like Nuria who is UP 21 spots this week after reaching the QF as qualifer at Vina Del Mar Tier III $200K. She ousted 6th seed/n°63 Errani en route before falling to n°83 Korrytseva.

TOP 200:
Yanina WICKMAYER n°153 (+10): Yanina represents one of the biggest belgium hope. At only 18 y.o , she's about to break the Top 150 after reaching the 2nd rd as WC at Antwerp Tier II $600 K where she upsetted n°59 Peng before losing to 3rd seed/n°8 Hantuchova.
