what's DOPPIO GIALLO? And why I'm playing with 1000? It's a bit unfair to Rightous & Arn, we're superior in number :p

You are in luck. 1000 seems to have good players in the 1st leg. ;) Now if only rightous would be kind enough to distract Rocketta so I can win my 1st round DOPPIO GIALLO match. ;)

If you follow the link provided by Kuilli (thanks! :D )you will find everything about Doppio Giallo. In brief, it's a doubles event where pairs are changed after each round and they are made putting together the first with the last, the second with the last but one... and so on: as you're #1, you're playing with newbie #36 1000. If you win your match, you will go directly to the second leg; if you lose, there's still a chance to advance.

The average was pretty good, with 2 posters over 1k and top 4 leading by some margin; just to put it in a wider perspective for The Crow and Kuilli, who probably already know what they scored, the top 4 got something better than 3 Aces. ;)

If I really wanted to dump you as a doubles partner I would have. Maybe it's time for us to see a counsellor - I can't deal with the three of us in this (you, me and Ceze) in this doubles partnership. If I had emotions, I'd be starting to get depressed .
Oh like you're telling me you're the one making decisions in our partnership?

You have no emotions so problem is solved

Girls, girls, girls - they never get over it :p.

You need to make a decision - Ceze or me.

I can understand you picking Ceze - he's a handsome lad, speaks French, okay at Tennis Poker, some gender issues but hey, nobody's perfect.

Just remember though, he could never treat you as badly as I do .

We keep losing in doubles because you're more interested in lusting after Ceze. Not to mention ganging up with Kuilli against your own doubles partner.

Well I'm a part of it, so it's pretty much the same since I can't seem to do any good on my own... whether you will ever survive that or not, is what I am wondering

And I am getting fit to kick your butt sometimes soon, surely not to help you have some glory

I am not crying btw, I am used to losses these days :p

^ Feel free, the tie's not over and your lover boy is in action in the final rubber so I can understand you wanting to go support him.

Once you've all cried over your defeat and gotten over it, get yourself fit for the next leg.

We are a team and we're going to dominate.

SINGLES

The final!!!

Jakeev ( 4 ) def Princess Fiona ( Q1 ) 7-5 6-4

So close to victory in last year’s 6th leg, when he scored the same combination of the winner Ceze but lost the second value tie-breaker, this Tennis Poker veteran has finally won a singles event after joining this game in the very first season, almost 9 years ago.
Fiona is still loking for her first title, but she started this season in the best possible way, breaking into the top 10 directly from the qualies. :yeah:

Congratulations to Jakeev!!!

DOUBLES

The final!!!

Princess Fiona & Tetetubby ( 7 ) def Carot & The Crow ( 5 ) 6-4 6-1

It’s the 4th doubles title for the EU pair, joining at the top of the all-time list the runner-up Belgians, Doris & Brian and Rocketta & Rightous; it will be very interesting to see who will get the 5th title first. :D

Congratulations to Princess Fiona & Tetetubby!!!

World Group I Round Robin Day 1

Russia vs ROSA (Residents of Sainte-Anne)
3 - 2

Klok ( 1 ) - -Ph51- ( 2 ) 4-6 6-3 7-5
Kart ( 2 ) – Ceze ( 1 ) 4-6 3-6
Klok ( 1 ) & Kart ( 2 ) - -Ph51- ( 2 ) & Yasmine ( 3 ) 6-4 6-7 7-5
Kart ( 2 ) – Yasmine ( 3 ) 6-4 5-7 6-3
Klok ( 1 ) – Ceze ( 1 ) 5-7 3-6

Not surprisingly, the tie which was last year’s final proved to be the closest of this leg. Ceze actually had the best score of all but the Russians produced a better teamwork for a solid and consistent winning performance. :yeah:

World Group I Round Robin Day 1

The AdMeans vs European Union
0 - 5

Carot ( 1 ) – James ( 2 ) 5-7 4-6
Hurricane Lily ( 2 ) – Tetetubby ( 1 ) 2-6 3-6
Carot ( 1 ) & Hurricane Lily ( 2 ) – Princess Fiona ( 3 ) & ViennaCalling ( 4 ) 4-6 1-6
Hurricane Lily ( 2 ) – James ( 2 ) 1-6 2-6
Carot ( 1 ) – Tetetubby ( 1 ) 6-7 5-7

The Europeans were simply too strong and among the World Group I teams only The You Knows, with Kuilli over Tetetubby, would have avoided a 5-0 defeat.

World Group II Round Robin Day 1

USA vs O.L.D. F.A.R.T.S. from Geriatrica
5 - 0

Rocketta ( 1 ) - Doris Loeffel ( 2 ) 6-3 6-1
CanIGetaWhat ( 2 ) - Brian Stewart ( 1 ) 6-0 6-1
GracefulVenus ( 3 ) & 1000 ( 4 ) - Valda Lake ( 3 ) & Tim Wilson ( 4 ) 6-1 6-2
CanIGetaWhat ( 2 ) - Doris Loeffel ( 2 ) 6-1 6-0
Rocketta ( 1 ) - Brian Stewart ( 1 ) 6-4 6-2

You can’t win the Fed Cup title in the very first tie, but sometimes you might lose it: the Geriatrica hopes are now really slim, as they need a 5-0 win and then the US team to lose with the same score, hoping to get through in a tie-breaker with a better overall score.
On the other hand, if Geriatrica goes well in the 2nd leg, the US team might face their next tie in the 3rd leg with a chance of winning the group even with a loss to Meteor Shower & Rightous.

Oh no, what have I done now!! ;) You can't possibly expect me to follow you every day now. Once a month should be enough. :p

You've got me all wrong Kuilli :awww:, I have no loyalties :p
Then we have a problem... I'm very loyal, and I expect the same in return. :p

Besides, you don't really think Jimbo is going to the ski slopes to ski do you ? I've never been skiing but I'm told the, er, socializing off the slopes is as much fun if not more ;).
And here I was thinking James believed in monogamy. ;)

A shame you're just here a week, cos it's gonna be hard to organise to meet up :awww:

that said maybe you need a little longer to recover from a whole day with me and Linda the other time

I have recovered fine so far, so it should be ok. Just see what you can manage. You have my mobile number still?

You'll be gone for a whole week? Are you sure Kart will be OK without you around? :p His loyalties and commitments might change while you are gone. ;)

Yes, an entire week. Kart will struggle naturally without my presence, but he is a brave soldier, so he will come through it. :p And it will not take much time to reprioritize his loyalities on my return, so not to worry. ;)

One does not exclude the other. ;)

And here I was thinking James believed in monogamy. ;)

Certainly, I always focus on one partner at a time. ;)
