They won whilst they were blogging for WTAtour.com! That's rare, although I am aware it has happened before.

Alona and Katerina must have practiced with each other a lot in the off season or something. They weren't a particularly great doubles team last year. For the season they went 18-20.

But they are sure playing like a great doubles team now. I wonder what they did or what happened that has changed their fortunes so drastically.

The same can be said of Zi and Jie. Their 2005 record was rather average (they only won 2 very small titles, although they made the QF of a slam twice.) And then, in 2006, they won 2 Slams and were the hottest team along with Raymond and Stosur. So I guess one big result can really propel you forward in a way that's almost hard to imagine :)

Well done Bondarenkos!

I wonder if they will do a Black/Huber and go on to win Antwerp and Dubai and reach number 1 by end of season (they're onto a good start). :bounce:

They said in an interview that the reason they're winning more matches now is that they don't fight on court anymore, and are trying to get along when they're out there playing doubles. It's pretty logical, I mean, that's how being sisters work

well done to them. its great to see them doing realy well together, and if they keep it up top 5 doubles rankings could be very doable for them.
