19 BAMMER, SYBILLE 1366.00
20 SZAVAY, AGNES 1303.00
21 RADWANSKA, AGNIESZKA 1152.00

Agnes is in the SF now at the Open Gaz De France
Sybille Bammer won last year Pattaya City, so she won 115 points
Agnieszka played the qualies last year at the open gaz de france but lost in 1r.

So Agnes should climb to number 19. Then, Sybille will lose 115 points (1366-115= 1251)
Aga should lose 15 points from last year qualies (1152-15= 1137) and if she wins Pattaya tomorrow , she will earn 115 points (1137+115= 1252). So she should break for the first time the top 20 and we would have this:

19 or 18 SZAVAY, AGNES 1443.00
20 RADWANSKA, AGNIESZKA 1252.00
21 BAMMER, SYBILLE 1251.00

I don't know if I did it right. And Agnes can be even 18th because Mauresmo lost in QF (and she was in SF last year)

Am I right?

they said she will pass bammer provided she wins the tourney in polish press

:confused:

They were wrong.

Bammer = 1366 - 115 + 35 = 1286
Radwanska = 1152 - 15 + 115 = 1252

But I can see her reach the Top20 after Miami if not before!

No she won't, but Aga is almost certain to do it in the following week when she will overtake Mauresmo who is not defending her Antwerp title. Additionally if Aga out performs Bammer in Antwerp she will pass her in the rankings too.

In short, Aga's place in the top 20 is imminent, but it will have to wait another week yet. :)

No, but it's been explained here, and in the rankings thread now anyway. ;)

Then the Polish press obviously don't understand the ranking system. ;) Yes, Sybille has points coming off, but she can then add the points from her next best tourney if she's played more than 17 (she had played 26). ;) If you only take off the points from Pattaya and don't add any, then she only has 16 tourneys for her ranking, and as she's played well more than that, you just add the next best. ;)

To get a good rest is much more important for Aga than some ranking points now. Papa Radwanski is a lunatic, who drags Aga half around the world to get WC-s for the younger sis. Get rid of your papa Agnes, and start focusing on your own career. The sis will catch you up anyway, if she has the talent.

Aga won't enter the top 20 right now but she will definitely do so in 2008. She's able to defeat top 10 players and that will be very important.
