What a joke. Does she really expect to get away with such rubbish against Ana or Venus?

She will do what she needs to win. Get over it.

Cool, but I hope you know if she wins this tripe won't work in the SF.

I'm not watching so I don't know if she's moonballing a lot but it may only be a tactic for this match. She could change her game plan against Ana/Venus.

Who cares if she uses moonball!!! She's already 23 years old and this is her chance to make the semis. If I was her, I'd do everything including fake injury time outs and coaching

Dani actually moonballs a lot for a top 10 player but that is a part of her game that comes in handy here.

It's also the part of her game that has gotten her back in the top 10.
Instead of going for a crazy down the line winner when she's out of position, she's hitting deep off-pace balls with some spin.
If she can find a way to sneak in some more to net, then she's maximized her ability as a tennis player IMO.

I completely agree. She has lovely touch and volleys. Her movement is so much better, she's more patient in rallies, her forehand is steadier, and her serve stands up better in pressure. She's really worked on everything that could make her a better tennis player and being in her first slam semifinal at 24 years old proves just that.

I like Dani's moonballing. It adds a nice dimension to her game.

im by no means a hantuchova fan (ask Derek :o) But its nice to see a player use variety - plan A is boring all the time.

She hit only 2 balls like that.
She played a smart game in this match :yeah:

It's also part of the reason why she reached her first ever clay court SF last year.

It's just increased patience. It's obviously a far higher percentage shot than trying to go for a screamer down the line.

The point is to win the match. If it requires moonballing, you moonball.

Yes I remember that match she played against Medina Garrigues.
I was just shocked at the patience she showed the match.

She even snunk in behind a moonball.
That was such a sneaky tactic, I decide to use that in my tennis matches and it works.

 I'll have to try it some time.

Of course, it didn't seem to work well enough in the 3r of the FO, but whatever.

Ever heard of strategies? She'll play differently against Ana. That's the difference between Daniela and the girls ranked lower with supposedly more weapons, she actually has a brain.

Kinda like the way you'll see Hantuchova after Ana destroys her. :wavey:

I hope for your sake English isn't your first language. You've got a long way to go young man, as do your favourites. Nicole was laughable in the 4th.
