Budapest

Hey guys...I need your help!

I'm thinking of coming later this year to Budapest to study at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest. I'm studying in Barcelona to become a primary school teacher and I'm doing this Erasmus thing. My Uni has an agreement with several Universities around Europe and this one is one of them. As I've never been in any Eastern European country, Hungary is pretty cheap (by Barcelona standards at least) and from what I've seen it looks like a beautiful city I am thinking of studying there. Do you think that's a good university? Is it really tough for the foreign students to pass the exams? I assume I'll take subjects in English (otherwise :help:). Is it really cold in winter? Do you see gay people the same way your lovely neighbours Poland do? Is accomodation easy to find?

ELTE is the most high ranked University in Hungary... They founded it at the and of the XVIII. ciecle... It's a big University COmplexum, only bad news, ELTE is in the city, so maybe you can travel a lot for courses... I studied there a half year, but I liked it. I dunno that the education reform what will do with ELTE, because ELTA hasn't got enough money to exist now, he must to find a big-big Meceanas...
Gays: in Bp, there is Gay-clubs (Alibi f.e.), so there you can meet with other gays...
Bp is a very nice city, but very big and has very bad travel...

SO being in the city means bad news? Well, I so intend to live in the city, is that not possible? Too expensive?

Being in the city is bad (I think) because you must travel a lot between your course.. I studied in Piliscsaba, the whole University is there, I mustn't travel between the course...

Bpest is expensive, yes, but I love Bpest. But the worst thing is the Travel by bus, metro, tram, etc. But you will see it when you come here...;)
