She is not playing well in 2008!!!

yes, I think that will be her last season on the WTA tour, she said last year that she was thinking about retirement or something like that, and to me her bad results since few months will make the decision easier.

she was n.3 in the world in 2006 - I really think this was her peak

the season has only just begun guys, give her a chance. its hard coming straight back on tour and playing amazing. plus, she has lost to two quality opponets so lets not take that away from them.

well, she has lost to Bammer, not to a top 5 player!

She will never return in TOP5.
Time to time, she will be TOP10... why not?

come on, bammer is a dangerous player :o not many people get used to play the players with left-handed. of course its a piece of cake for juju as she has the best bh

She should be thankful that she was ever in the top 10. There's really nothing special or spectacular about her game besides her hilarious meltdowns when she's lucky enough to be ahead.

If someone is a professional player and she lost because her opponent is left-handed and their backhand isn't good enough to handle it...I would recommend going back to school instead.

Top ten is quite weak these days so she still could make it again.

Top ten is quite weak these days so she still could make it again. It's simple not true. Only weak TOP10 player is Bartoli (b/c that sensational Wimbledon final) and i dont remember when WTA have so many good players out of TOP10 - Mauresmo, Davenport, Dementieva, Vaidisova, Golovin, Schnyder, Li, Peer, Szavay, Zvonareva, Safina, Safarova... and Petrova of course. Its great competiton and you must bee realy good player these days if want to be TOP20. Even if we talking about TOP10 - no more Davenport and Clijsters, but both sisters is back finaly. Last time Serena finished season better than #7 in 2003 and Venus better than #8 in 2002.

Maybe, it's still possible, despite her two losses now.

 I just don't see it like that. You forget to mention Hantuchova, who is at #9 at the moment? How? Winning Indian Wells and winning 1 or 2 rounds at the slams. As much as I think she's a sweet girl or whatever, that's just unacceptable for top 10. A few years ago results like that wouldn't get you anywhere near that rank. And if that's all Nadia has to do - win 2 events and not even make a 4th round or quarter at a slam - well, that's possible to be in top 10 again.

Nadia's goal has never been to do well in Sydney. Go look at her record.
Melbourne will tell us more.

Yeah, she doesnt do that well in Australia. Hopefully she will make splashes in the indoor European events after the Australian Open and then in Dubai and Doha - thats when she gets going (winning Doha 2006, Paris 2007)

And... no. Just because she started the year off with 2 bad losses doesn't mean she is done. Everybody seems to forget that her last match in '07 was a quarterfinal with Jankovic in Stuttgart in which she was playing pretty well and retired after losing the 2nd. And she wasn't that fit.

No big deal losing to a good player like Bammer, all of their matches have been close anyway.

On talent alone Nadia should stay fairly comfortable top 20.

If she fancies top 10 again, she's going to have to improve her fitness.

Petrova has all the tools, but like so many of the women, her biggest weakness is her brain! Does she have the resilience to come back to the top 10? I don't think so.

Actually, there was something special about Nadia's game. When she was on, she displayed a combination of power and precision that was very impressive. She just hasn't been on in a long time.

Yes.

I don't think she'll ever be #3 again and pretty much dominate the clay season like she did in 2006.

I think she´s starting to play a bit better now... She is losing matches but not heavily and she lost this time to Kirilenko in 3 sets after losing to her in just 2 last week. She also had a win against Srebotnik so i think she is not playing really really bad, she just has to keep trying and i think she can play again her best if she finds the right way to motivates her. She is one of the best players of the tour...
