Are you serious?

And what was the score of her 1st rd match?

I think she had a bye in the first round.

Did she really lose? I thought there would have been a thread of people slagging her off if she lost?

They play multiple matches in one day. Whoever plays Sesil will have won her first round match and then had a very quick turnaround and played Sesil very shortly after winning, so more than likely the first match has been completely but the site hasn't been updated yet.

I can't even believe we're having this discussion. Her opponents are, at BEST, nationally ranked junior and open players. This is a woman who left tennis ranked among the top 40 and has been practicing full steam the entire tme. She will steamroll through this tournament, without question. Pre-qualifying for a challenger? Come on...

then Sesil would beat her easily. the girl isn't in her league plus she has just finished the last match :o
what a delightful come back

Yeah. I mean, it's not like Sesil's been injured. I'm sure she's been practicing for the last 2 years. It's not the same type of comeback as a player who had a severe injury, she ought to run over these players and I'm sure her first event back will be 25K Surprise.

On another note, I might've misunderstood. Is this a playoff for a MD WC or a QWC?

Goai

I think it's for a QWC.

Bulgaria
Jan 6th, 2008, 12:54 AM
It is for QWC. And from another poster I understood that the rain in Arizona didn't alowed the game to continue and because of that they will start there play tommorow at 9:00 local time.

i just don't understand. if she is that ready for the match, she shouldn't wait until Tampa Bay kicks off (in April i guess). why doesn't she fly to some tournies in Europe?

Well, she's probably still been training in Florida (it does say Miami Beach next to her name in the draw), so the Tampa event especiall was not that far away.

Those aren't great scores considering who she was playing. But she did play six sets in one day. Good luck in Surprise, Sesil.
