Thats if no injuries stop the the players I mentioned above.
Watch out for Na Li, Lindsay Davenport, Victoria Azarenka, Agnes Szavay, Tamira Paszek, Agnieszka Radwanska (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/3928) and Lucie Safarova. They are climbing up their ranking smoothly this year and would be in top 20 by end of the year...!!! :kiss:
This year is still not a year for Amelie Mauresmo Elena Dementieva and Nadia Petrova yet unfortunately :(

1. Venus (not much to defend from first part of the season and didn't play YEC)
2. Serena (not much to defend and played a limited schedule)
3. Justine (lots to defend and unlikely to duplicate such a dominating year)
4. Maria (not much to defend, but the will be stopped by the big three on their preferred surfaces at slams)
5. Kuzzie (lots to defend, but hopefully she actually wins a couple of tournaments)

I agree with vwfan.

I think the pressure on Henin is going to be immense, so it could go either way. Some thrive under pressure, some choke. I think if a player can establish themselves as a threat early (ie. AO) then shes likely to choke. Still with no points to defend here its gonna take even longer to get even close to touching her.

this seems like a realistic outlook, but honestly how can ANYONE even begin to think about this prediction with all the injuries (and illnesses and...cocaine problems?) that riddle women's tennis? this is a stupid ass thread, im not gonna lie.
