:hearts::hearts::hearts:

"Davenport was playing in Auckland for the first time and will play no other tournaments before the first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open, starts on Jan. 14. She will be bidding to win that title for the second time.

In winning, Davenport improved her percentage of wins in singles to 79.4 percent -- 792 wins in 918 matches -- the best winning percentage in WTA history."

Yeah.
We've gotten to the point where ESPN or yahoo are not accurate sources for any tennis story.

(her real W/L record is 713 wins in 894 matches - 79.8%)

According to this thread from last week:

Note:
Top-10 records of Graf, Sabatini, Sanchez and Novotna could be not 100% correct due to lack of the data before 1987.
If you notice any other factual errors please post them in this thread.
7 of last 19 slam champions have better career w/l record than Lindsay (Graff 0.894, Seles 0.831, Serena 0.826, Henin 0.818, Venus 0.807, Hingis 0.803 and Clijsters 0.799). And dont forget that Navratilova (i think about 87%), Evert (about 90%) and BJK (more than 80%) is not including in this list, so she is even not TOP5 W/L player in USA tennis history.
