Maria's on the list for next week's Tier IV event in Hobart, Australia.
Last year, as the 4th seed, she lost in the first round to Sania Mirza 6-4 6-4. This year, it looks like she'll be the 5th seed. I'm not aware of any withdrawals so far. Hopefully, a chance for Maria to bounce back from being upset by Tamira. I expect another QF appearance for her. No sign of Tamira in this tourney!

Here's a player list I got from their website.

Hopefully the late withdrawal is just a precaution and she will be 100% fit for AO.

It's the beggining of a the 2008 season and Maria is already hurt. :( If Masha can't move well and cover the court as well as she does she will be easy prey for the big girls who will over power her from the baseline. I hope her pulling out of Hobart is precautionary. But there is a problem with her left knee otherwise she wouldn't have withdrawn.
