Brito didn't grunt that much actually!

Everything was amazing for Michelle! Powerful forehand, her backhand opening angles wonderfully, good serve (just 1/2 DF), nice volleys and an amazing attitude on the court!

Vamos Michelle!!!

I hope so. Also, I think playing doubles will only help Elena. It's impressive that Elena is such a good doubles player.

De Brito has received a ton of doubles experience with ATP/WTA legends on the WTT circuit in recent months, so it's no surprise she can step in front of a large crowd and excel like this.

Can't remember her WTT partners, but Elena is easy to get along with, so best success to both.

but today was a totally mess...I was surprised too...I guess it's because in doubles you don't know when your opponent will play to your direction and you should or should not attack the ball..in singles, you are at the net you have to volley...and I guess it was Ana's problem today, not good antecipation.

And she also had great net play at Wimbledon. It's funny, I've always thought that was one of Ana's strengths. I'm sure she's had bad days, but she's generally one of those power players who actually has good touch.

 at Elena's groundstrokes! And the movement that Elena showed during that one point where she shifted past De Brito. Awesome. I almost like watching her doubles as much as her singles. Usually, I don't like watching doubles because I always think players don't get to display what makes them so good in singles. Also, I think I've seen De Brito on the Tennis Channel during some advertisment.

Went out of my way to watch this for obvious reasons.

Micaela Carolina looks good - very good in fact (and cheeky, too - at times she was clearly challenging Ivanovic for a FH vs FH duel) Groundstrokes are powerful, deep, and accurate, serve wasn't that much of a liability, and of all four players she was the one who made less sloppy errors. The angles she got from her CC BH were amazing (she makes very good use of her left wrist - reminds me of Fat Dave) - and there was one flick DTL BH winner that was just to die for.

Ivanovic seemed lethargic (jet lagged?). Missed loads of volleys, groundstrokes lacked bite, and her serve was completely ineffective. Initially I thought she just couldn't be arsed, but then I noticed she was getting a bit frustrated with the way things were going.

Lena D. ranged from excellent to meh. She has better court coverage than all the other 3 players put together, but missed a few groundstrokes and (relatively) easy volleys here and there. Serve was par for the course.

Peng was laughably bad at the net, but, unlike Ivanovic, improved as the set went along.
