Which player, with her type of play, frustrates your favorite player the most? The one you can expect to push her to her limits where even if your favorite wins, more often than not, they are hard-earned victories.

Serena,Venus and Hénin give Maria Sharapova the most troubles :p
Tall girls with lots of power like Azarenka ( but especially grass specialists) are likely to trouble Dominika Cibulkova.

For Venus: Jankovic is tough to beat, Venus has to play very clean to beat her convincingly if she doesn't it's a toss up. A well playing Serena is also probably the biggest threat to Venus.
For Serena: Venus but obviously right now it's Justine.
Svetlana: :tape: Need I say more?
Ana: Venus & Serena, Justine.

Sharapova. Everything Elena does Maria does better.

Blasphemy. The only things Maria does better than Elena is serve and she has a better backhand. Elena pwns her with movement, forehand, net game/anticipation.

The thing is that Maria is in Elena's head and that is more than 75% of the battle.

With that said, to me, Elena's biggest threats are Henin, the late Clijsters, and Serena. Henin because she's just flat out better, Clijsters because she's a superb defender and hits pretty hard and Serena because she's a great returner and Elena has trouble breaking her.

Justine.

She can absorb the pace Lindsay throws at her and her highly superior movement/athleticism causes Lindsay all sorts of problems.

I find Svetlana has a lot of trouble with counterpunchers and players who do not make many errors, in particular I can think of Shahar Peer, Jelena Jankovic, Tatiana Golovin and Medina Garigues. Tatiana is not a counter puncher but a very steady player.

That's a part of her game Svetlana needs to work on. She must play longer rallies and cut down on the unforced errors. Svetlana must become more patient and use the right shot as a ticket to the net. Attacking players who excel in that department and she can learn from are Henin and Sampras, who use quality groundstrokes to help set up good net play. And Federer, although Federer didn't go to net as much this year as I think he can.

The thing is that Maria is in Elena's head and that is more than 75% of the battle.

The mental thing is indeed true, but it's more than that.

Maria does indeed have a way better backhand and a way better serve.
Elena does move better than Maria, but Maria's natural power, depth on her shots, and her serve make up for it.
And their forehands are pretty even. It just seems as if Elena's forehand is better because it's her main weapon, but really when both are playing well, they're going to hit just about the same amount of winners off the forehand.
Elena's aniticipation, I don't think, is as great as it seems. She's just fast which makes it look like she can anticipate well.

Lindsay, Serena and Justine, definitely.

Hardly, Lena moves better, has a better FH, has better volleys and is fitter.

Players like Serena/Venus/Henin ever Dulko actually give her much more trouble than Sharapova. The only reason why she often sucks against Sharapova is because she chokes.

For Venus it's Jankovic & maybe Golovin, but Golovin is difficult to say, because they never played outside Green-Clay and especially last time Venus played :help: :help:

Kuznetsova is on clay also very very trough to beat.

I dont think Nicole is given that much trouble from Ana, they went 1-1 this year against each other and Nicole had MPs in the one she lost, so I think Nicole does fine against Ana.

For Nicole- Henin, Serena, and Kuznetsova

I think Nicole should be able to beat Kuznetsova, but Sveta seems to always play well against Nicole, so I guess Nicole has trouble with her

Henin obviously gives all the players a hrad time but especially my fav player, Jelena Jankovic. Thouhg JJ has yet to beat her she always either loses in three's or like a 7:5 7:5 two setter. But wait for it i think 2008 will be JJ's year. First Rome, next the French Open.
