Nice thread. I voted for Serena dedicating her OZ win to Yetunde. That speech really touched me the most. I could literally feel her pain and how much she misses her.

Serena barely able to stand at Wimbledon got to me the most. Just about everything on here meant something to me aside from Justine's option(s), but that one rocked my world that day.

Other than that, I spent a good day grinning and crying when Elena won Moscow.

yeah, that was a very emotional end of the speech from serena!

but I went for kim, I really had a hard time watching that and I didn't expect it at all. it was such a great atmosphere. and that first standing ovation that took minutes: waauw

I really felt sorry for martina when she was doing that press conference. she nearly burst into tears

Anyone else notice what a highly emotional spectacle tennis can be? :bigcry:

- Marion's speech to her father at Wimbledon.

- the RG crowd willing on Patty in the third set tie-break v Sharapova.

- Sveta winning the Fed Cup for Russia.

Obviously, as a Lindsay fan, her moment being crowned a champion again with Jagger in her arms is special to me.

Serena's dedication after winning the Australian was just :awww: and her cramping at Wimbledon was just horrible to watch. One of the few times I've actually gasped watching a tennis match.

Jelena's gracious words after her loss at the US Open really touched me. As did Serena's comments after her AO win.

I think it definitely had to be the Bartoli moment. All the others have had their time in the sun and had got to finals of grandslams before. It was a great moment to see Bartoli realise she was going to be in her first grandslam final. I felt so proud of her. I just wanted to give her a big hug.

Bad luck to Justine though... maybe next yr :)

that was just amazing wasn't it
but I really liked seeing her dancing to "let's get it started" (from the BEP) in Antwerp after a win in 2005
and then later her loss in the final against mauresmo, she was sooo upset

Serena at AO. It was really emotional, I remember she said that she had written her sister's name in a sheet of paper and she would read it in the breaks. I would also add in the poll Maria's speach at the yec, after everything she's been through this year, her speech was quite emotional

Me too! I think all of those made me have to wipe a tear or two away.

Overall it had to be Serena at the australian though.

Reading this thread has made me realise what a fantastic year of tennis we've had this year. So many touching stories, some fantastic matches and drama both on and off the court. I only hope 2008 can bring more of the same.

Serena dedicating her AO win to Yetunde was really sweet. :awww:

But as a die hard Kim fan I have to say Kim's Antwerp speech. It was so sad.

Kim's falling to the ground efter winning Sydney was great too. And even though I'm not a Serena fan, her cramping at Wimbledon was painfull to watch.

For me it was definitely the embrace between Richard Williams and Marion's father during her Wimbledon speech. Her father's reaction was just :sobbing:, and then Richard's actions sealed it for me. Tears were rolling down my cheeks. Of course it was bittersweet, because I was clearly OVERJOYED by Venus winning :hearts:, but the reactions were just beautiful. All round class :sobbing: :bounce: :hearts:

To be fair Venus's win wasn't really an emotional one, nothing compared to how she won in 2005 which is probably one of the most amazing moments in tennis in recent years. It was more just great satisfaction and solidification that she was the best grass court player of the generation.

Id say Serena dedicating her AO victory to her sister was the most touching moment of 2007.
