The only player younger than Svetlana to win a major is Maria.
Will a young player win a major next year?

2008-Venus and Serena slam sweep.

Make me laugh.. That's so funny. If anyone clean sweeps the slams next year it will be Justine the sisters will lucky if they win one between them next year.

It's much more likely for two players who have 14 singles slams between them and who won 2 of the 4 slams in 2007 to sweep the slams, than Justine to win the calendar slam.. something no one has done since Graf, and since she has never won 3 slams in a calendar year and 2 slams in one year only twice.

Maria will be 21 when she wins either Wimbledon or the US Open :hearts::o

I for one would love to see Justine win all four, but I know its not a high chance. With that said its not a high chance that the sisters will win all four together. They are to hot and cold. They have not had two good years back to back since 02-03, and they have not had a great year since 02. Last do you really think that any one will win RG besides Justine if she is healthy. The only time in the past 5 year she has lost there was when she was sick.

As far as the Poll, Maria or Ana, but not likely Ana

But "other" can also mean you think someone else might or?

No, just maybe Sharapova. But I think GS-Winners 2008 have the names Williams and Henin.

I wasn't saying they'd win all four because I think that is very unlikely. I was just saying that the chance of two people winning all four between them is higher than anyone going for the calendar slam. IMO, I dont think anyone will win more than 1 slam in 2008 unless it's Justine pulling the AO-RG double I think. But I could be wrong.. she could win 3 or 4... there's just not a huge chance.

I should have said, will a player who is under 21 right now, win a major in 2008.

I think that's one of the 2 big WTA stories in 2008.
Will a young player start winning majors against Henin and Williams.
And the other story is will Justine catch Serena at 8, or will Serena maintain &/or stretch her lead.
