at least not this year, Lorena Ochoa (Rank No.1 LPGA player) won the ADT championship at the Turmp international (final tournament of the Tour with the best players of circuit) and is already the story of this past weekend doing 4,3 million dolars in this season (new record in LPGA history ever) and winning 1 tournament more than Tiger Woods, so.. well.. lets wait.. Justine did great, but to the tennis world, they are a lot records still to break, so the absolute king and figure is Roger breaking the expectations, when Justine is at time starting to look for make history.. so Lorena is breaking records already as Tiger is doing in PGA, as Roger in the male cathegory ATP..

what you think, can be changes.. instead what Lorena did this last weekend?..

Maybe with the Williams in form and not winning that easy.. with Sharapova fit, etc, etc, the stuff would be diff.. the sense of she has not competence, just take her out the spotlight, even when she just did awsome; theres nothing said, she can still win if Im not wrong and the Press asociation has not annouced the winners..

Maybe its just me but I don't consider golf players "athletes."

90% of them are overweight and probably couldn't run two blocks.

Lorena may be the all time season money leader, but her season wins have been surpassed by many in the past. Money in the LPGA is far greater today than in the recent past. Justine does deserve it but Lorena is Mexican playing primarily in the US, Justine is an average looking Belgian. Like it or not, nationality and looks count a lot when it comes to sports awards.

If the AP holds it against Justine that Sharapova struggled and the WS were inconsistent then that is so unfair. That is NOT Justine's fault. Besides, Sharapova and the WS had chances to stop Justine from having this great year and they failed.

Professional golfers are very talented, but I agree, I don't consider them athletes.

Yeah, I'm not really a justine fan, but I have to say that golf to me is an activity, not a sport. When you have 300 pound men winning grand slams, you know something is wrong. "HAND EYE COORDINATION"!!! They say. "I sweat after walking around the course" others say. Well I sweat when I play checkers, and that requires hand eye coordination too.

I agree. Not everything that takes place outdoors and requires skill equates to athleticism. Golf being a great example.

The other thing I notice about golf is that every time I see an ad for Cialis or Viagra or some other wangdoodle drug, they always have a super at the bottom that says "See our ad in Golf magazine."

I let you draw your own conclusions.

I don't think Justine cares that much and besides what credibility does a sport award have it actually considers golf players athletes:o.

Golf is technically a sport (and so is chess btw). There's no reason to give an award for it separate from other sports.

If you consider "standing and whacking a ball into a hole" is better than "running everywhere on court hitting the ball", you have to be kidding me.

Oh wait. It's America. Bet Tiger's gonna win it instead of Federer :haha:
