Spain plays at home, that's great . But not a good draw for Spain, at least I don't like it too much.

what an easy draw for the belgian girls!!!!!!!!
I hope they choose hardcourt, but I think it will be clay again. Belgium has lots of clay courts..

I hope hardcourt, so they might play in Ghent then

Belgium, please pick HARDCOURT!

Belgium: it will be clay , its clay season and only other choice would be indoors,

Germany might stick us on grass at Halle but i'm sure we'll come thru whatever they throw at us, we'll just shuffle our players

Well if our girls continue to improve like they have this year, they will at least put in a good showing

Provided we beat Germans, we'd play the second round in Spain. I don't like it..

I think clay would be the best choice....I don't trust those Aussies on hardcourt ....

ys .... If we are at home to Spain we should make it

even on clay .... Elena v ASV , I'd take Elena.

The news from the ITF also mention that the qualifying play offs for the World Group 2003 will be on July 20-21.

This is during the qualifying rounds of the BOWC - exactly the same as last year.

So some players will have to chose again between the Fed Cup play offs and Stanford.

How come Germany gets to choose the surface?

I'm glad Switzerland is still in instead of playing quallies. I hope at least Patty plays for them.
Hungary?!?!? Let's see who they have. Aniko, Rita, Zsofia, Petra.....hmmm

pea: the last russia germany tie was in russia, thats the reason why germnay play at home this time!
TBE: im sure germnay will play once again in hamburg on clay! im sure lawn would be better, but this year against argentina it was the same, im sure on lawn in halle germany had won the tie against argentina!

germnay cant play in hamburg, the week later is the betty barclay cup and she need the courts for the qualifying!

and bad for the germnas girls, if she not get a wildcard for the hamburg tourni she can not play qualifying!
and not all can get a wildcard!

Germany still can play in Hamburg, (even I don't think they will) but they will have to play Friday and Saturday on the big c-c.

Betty qualies will first start Sunday. (If they do, what they use to do...)
