Tied between Flavia and Franny if they can be back to their best......they both shows flashes of their highest level at the end of 2007 though...... Roll on 2008!

I think Pennetta, at the 21-30 region. ;)

Flavia.....she showed signs of being back to a top 30 or even top 20 player in the latter stages of the year.

I think Flavia

I'm not ready to give up on Fran just yet! I also like Flavia's game. Best of luck to all of them in 08!:)

I think Flavia (:smooch:) will be the best Italian next year.
Also Francesca can have a great season if she plays every tournament with the same fighting spirit that she shows during the Fed Cup.

My favourite Italian player, Sara Errani! Maybe she will have to wait a couple more years to become the Italian no.1 but she'll hopefully have a nice 08 season.

Flavia will be the best.

I like Francesca and her fighting spirit. :worship: I hope she could do well next year.

No one believes in Mara. Why?

I'd LIKE her to be the Italian #1, and for about a year and a half she was really showing progress in going up the rankings, slowly but surely, then she got injured in the USO lead ups and fell off the charts. If she avoid injury she will probably be the #1 or #2 Italian for awhile, behind Flavia, since Garbin and Schiavone aren't very young, but both will probably play till they're 40 anyway.

I would say Franny but she's been so inconsistent this year. And you never know if Pennetta's going to really screw her head back on. Same for Santangelo. Errani's too raw in her game to really do well and get into the top 20. Garbin's best season is probably this one and I don't expect her to repeat it. Very tough question.

I'll say Pennetta to be safe, but any could be the #1 next year.

She did so well in the latter part of the season, hopefully she can keep it up and get back into the Top20. Hopefully she can also get her winning streak on clay back in the Chile, Colombia and Mexico swing

Hm, hopefully Pennetta, if she plays like against Venus for more times she can definitely return to Top-30 and even better.

Pennetta maybe Knapp can be 2nd or 3rd
