Does anyone know what's the story with the young Russian player Elena Kulikova? She seemed at some point to be really good hope for Russia's future, but now she doesn't have good results and her ranking dropped alot  Also why did she quit to play juniors? Does anyone have an answers?

I wonder the same. I remember her winning les petits as, being one year younger, with Wozniacki, Cirstea, Cornet, Paszek, Vogele and Brengle in the draw. She was almost unbeatable the first semester of that year, and was the number one of the Russian team in winter cups (with Palyuchenkova and Pervak in the team). She seems fated to make an impact, at least in the juniors but suddenly she disapear

You sure her name was Elena, not Regina?
Because Regina Kulikova is doing allright:

Nope, Elena Kulikova is a different girl (born '91) and she looks very different, with long red hair and freckles. I guess Kulikov is a common name in Russia, for sure in Poland we have this name quite frequent - Kulik, Kulikowski, etc.

Looks like she's playing on ITF circuit (mostly qualies) without much success
