Julie DITTY: If someone would have put money on an american rising girls..for sure nobody would have chosen Julie at the beginning of the season. She was n°245 at the beginning of the year, and Julie is finishing 2007 in the Top 100. Last week, she made her 1rst SF in a WTA tournement as a qualifer ousting french prodigy 6th seed/n°59 Cornet en route before esisting in 3 sets vs Runner Up 3rd seed/n°36 Vakulenko.

FASTER MOVEMENTS IN THE TOP 10, 20, 50, 100 150 and 200

TOP 50:
Julia VAKULENKO n°33 (+3) and Akiko MORIGAMI n°50 (+3): Julia reached her ever 1rst final on the WTA Tour at Quebec Tier III $175K. She also equals her ever best ranking. In final, she had no answer to come backer WC n°126 Davenport. Akiko preferd to play in Asia to finsh this year. She hold the pressure as Top seed at Taoyuan $50K challenger winning the title against talented n°280 Wickmayer in final.

TOP 100:
Lindsay DAVENPORT n°73 (+53): Lindsay only played 3 tournements this year. I september 2006, she decided to retire after a brillant career..as she was pregnant. A year after, she was missing some much the competition that she came back. She's already back in the TOP 80, winning her 2nd title of the year at Quebec Tier III $175K ousting 7th seed/n°82 Kerber, 2nd seed/n°24 Zvonareva and 3rd seed/n°36 Vakulenko. For sure Lindsay will be one of the fearest unseeded player at the Australian Open in 2008.

TOP 150:
Stephanie FORETZ n°137 (+14): Stephanie is back to the TOP 150 after recahing her 6th WTA tour QF at Quebec Tier III $175K. There's no doubt about Stephanie's talent..but her game is too eratic. With more concistency, she should be ranked between the n°50 and n°100.

TOP 200:
Virginie PICHET n°185 (+27): Virginie is back to the TOP 200 after winning her 2nd challenger of the year at Saint Denis Reunion $25K. She had an easy week due to a weak level honestly. She took the best over 3rd seed/n°274 Mircic in final.
