Apparently Sandra has just retired this year at the age of 29 and is commentating in Czech Eurosport already. A former #41 WTA with a WTA tour final and several good wins in the Tour is looking GREAT now :hearts:

Wow!

She's changed!

She was a good player, I remember her beating Dementieva at Wimbledon by completely dominating her. She was strange mentally though, and that completely affected how far she could go.

Yes, in fact her story is a bizarre one as she was famous since the day she was born as her mum is a very famous actress in the Czech Republic and she has always been in the spotlight.

Yeah, 2 weeks after Elena reached her first Slam final in 2004...too bad she had to draw Tanasugarn in 2nd round :fiery:

She had beaten Elena too in Berlin some years ago on clay

Yeah a 6-4 1-6 6-4 scoreline is absolute dominance :tape: If you actually saw the match, then you would know Dementieva played like crap and was mentally still in pieces from RG. It was a total fluke considering she won just 4 other MD matches that year.

Anyway Sandra had some promising results earlier in her career but never actually reached her full potential. She had a good game but was mentally too weak

LOL after beating Lena at Wimbledon Sandra had 14 first round losses out of 15 tournaments. Talk about a total fluke :haha:

Sandra was famous for swearing and cursing when playing, sometimes even getting warnings for it, but off court she's actually a very classy lady. And she does a wonderful job commentating for Czech Eurosport. She knows a lot about the game and never says stupid or needlessly controversial things like other commentators sometimes do. I have a lot of respect for her.

Sandra was always known to act bitchy on the court. Many players didnt like her. Anyway she looks good now:hearts:

@ childhood pics of Sandra :hearts: :hearts:

it also reminds me of the very special atmosphere which was dominant in the CSSR in the 80ies. It was some kind of foreign world visitors from Western Europe did experience at that time. All that vanished - it's like a time machine when I take a look at those pictures.

Is blue the real color of her eyes? Or is it some kind of iris manipulation due to colored lenses?

i am right in remembering when she beat Dementieva Sandra had no supporters in her box or something so she was very happy but had no one to really celebrate with??
