It was not a good performance, but the good thing is that she got the win. She just doesn't seem to care when she misses shots, and she is certainly missing a lot more than she used to. I hope I will be able to catch her entire match tomorrow instead of just bits and pieces like I did today.

Well done Patty! :rocker:

(1/wc)Patty Schnyder (SUI) d. Maria Elena Camerin (ITA) 63 62 :)

Will have to wait and see if someone recorded the match, because I left when she was 12* down in the first set. Nice to see that she recovered and seemingly played confidently well afterwards. QF tomorrow against fifth-seeded Alisa Kleybanova. Leads the head-to-head 2-0, so I'm expecting more of the same.

(1/wc)Patty Schnyder (SUI) d. (5)Alisa Kleybanova (RUS) 57 75 62 :)

Currently up 51* in the semifinal against Gallovits. Go Patty! :bounce:

Also, the draw for Palermo is out:

(8)Gisela Dulko (ARG) vs. Anna-Lena Groenefeld (GER)
(wc)Anna Floris (ITA) vs. Q
Nuria Llagostera Vives (ESP) vs. Maza Zec Peskiric (SLO)
Q vs. (2)Patty Schnyder (SUI)

An abundance of good clay courters in this draw. I'm not sure if she will even play if she makes the Budapest final.

(1/wc)Patty Schnyder (SUI) d. Edina Gallovits (ROU) 62 64 :yeah:

Should have been 62 62 but I am not complaining about her wins anymore. It's up to us to enjoy the few good results she has left. Her tennis was ok today but will need to improve a lot for the final tomorrow against Szavay who I think her game doesn't match up well against. It will be hard but I hope she will be pumped up and continue her winning streak in finals. ;)

Hopp Patty! :bounce:

Fatigue could be a factor. I hope the final won't be played early. Also, the crowd will be firmly behind Szavay. I don't expect Patty to win, but it's been a really good tournament no matter what the outcome is. Suprise me with a win, Patty :rocker:

Bad luck for Patty, but good week over all.

Hope she plays this week and can have a similar result!

I'm sorry but I don't think this is a good result. Patty should have won this tournament. A loss in this tournament is so disappointing. It's a Mickey Mouse tourny and it's on clay, there's no way Patty doesn't win here. The way she played yesterday in the final was HORRIBLE. I'm really disppointed. :o

Perhaps the match with Kleybanova was a pyrrhic victory, although she won the succeeding match with Gallovits, she was obviously short of vigor in final,a terrible saturday....:(

good luck in Palermo:wavey:

she defeated NLLV 6-2, 6-2
Now against ALG, who seems to be in a great shape as well...
How could they lose R1 in doubles?????
Hopp Patty!

Good win, although NLV was also crushed on clay last week.

I think she can beat Groenefeld, who is essentially Kleybanova-lite.

Patty Schnyder (SUI) d. Gisela Dulko (ARG) 64 60

Bagel! She has said in the past that she feels great on the Cincinnati center court, so let's hope that bring her lots of luck because she will need it for the next match against either Bartoli or Clijsters. Still, this is a much-needed win for her and a nice way to get it. :yeah:

I'm watching Toronto Doubles R1: Grönefeld/Schnyder vs. Dushevina/Rodionova
Patty and ALG were 6-3, 5-2 up, now it's 5-4...
I've never seen ALG play that bad, she's really horrible. The only thing that works is her serve, she hit 3 aces but she's making loads of UE. She can really be glad, she's partnering Patty..!
Hopefully, Patty can close it out now...

well, not a bad loss, just shame she had her in the second round, she'll need nice draws to get back on winning terms again, but on the other hand, when she had those she blew it
