Ben.

be good if she could go with back to back wins at consecutive tournaments :) but we cannot put any pressure on her.

Some good form last week from Alicia and I feel that Morigami will be under some big time Japanese pressure. I wish her all the best. Hope Alicia watched Casey's demolition of Bremond. Sophie Ferguson ditto. It would be nice for Alicia to gather some confidence on the road to Melbourne.

Good luck Alicia. It is sad to see that we have to question whether Molik can win this match. The old Alicia would have demolished this field and we would have been confident that she would beat Venus. As a fan it is hard to see what Alicia goes through week in and week out. I wonder how she feels about it all? If it was not for that rotten illness she would surely still be top 10.

Well done Alicia. The locaal gals are finding it tough in their home town with Nakamura and Sugiyama going down. That could well be the best match Alicia has played all year and a promising sign for a form resurgence. She is way better than 75 or whatever!

like some retard williams fantroll said in GM, Alicia always brings it when she plays a Williams (or any top player) so lets hope she can really get under Venus' skin like she did to Serena at Wimbly but actually capitalise on it this time and win!!

Alizé Molik
Oct 4th, 2007, 07:05 AM
Hmm, I am really worried about the fact that the scoreline against Serena was identical... I think Alicia took that loss really hardly, being that she led in every game at least 30-0 before loosing it...and she led in the second set before loosing that.

Either way, Molik is a confidence player, and if she can start regularly beating those girls we all know she should be, hopefully she will rise again.

22 aces is the stat that I am really happy about, if the serve is working, the movement and shot selection isn't that far behind.

This is what Venus had to say about the match in her blog on the WTA Website

''Well it was a tough match today against Alicia Molik but I was able to make it through. There were some times I played some great tennis and other times I made some mistakes I just couldn't comprehend - not that it's something I'll accept. That's just the way it was today. Alicia's been working hard to get back to where she was, and I think her level is getting there. I saw her match against Serena at Wimbledon and I really think that is a great surface for her.''

Sounds promising :)
