One qualifier out of 3 made it to the second round, while it was a total disaster for the Geriatrica players with 4 defeats. A pretty balanced draw so far, the worst score of the 8 winners was better than the top score of the 8 losers.
So, it’s over: the Canadians can’t catch up anymore, the European Union is the 6th and last team to qualify for the World Group I main draw. :yeah:

This Fed Cup team didn’t quite get all the success they deserved in this season, but now it’s down to the most important ties they’re really showing what they’re capable of, and I won’t be surprised if they find their way back to the World Group I right away in the next play-off ties: by now, thanks to this impressive win, they jump ahead of the Geriatrica team and qualify for the World Group II finals.
ROSA closed it quite easily though nothing changes for the US team, already directly qualified for the World Group II finals.

I can't believe I lost to Ceze, carot and The Crow all in the same leg.
Sarsmile scored less points then The Crow but had a better combination, while in the other semis the result was exactly the same and it was down to the second scores: Jelena’s busy schedule payed off. :speakles:
Belgium ( 3 ) vs European Union ( 6 ) 2-2
Arn ( 1 ) – James ( 1 )
World Group I Quarterfinals third rubber
Russia ( 4 ) vs The AdMeans ( 5 ) 3-1
Kart ( 1 ) – Carot ( 1 )
World Group II first round third rubber
O.L.D. F.A.R.T.S. from Geriatrica ( 10 ) vs Poker...Dotted...Zebras featuring the Left Coast Elite ( 11 ) 2-2
Brian Stewart ( 1 ) – KC ( 1 )
Good luck everyone! :bounce:

DOUBLES
All the semifinalists over 500 pts: another final for the 5th leg winners, while this time Fiona & Tete produced the best teamwork. :yeah:third final in singles and in doubles this season (I think) :D :bounce:
The 4 SF were all in 3 sets  :worship:

Damn, such a disappointing day for me :( :( :(
Ceze, the actual values of your cards play a role in the points. So if for instance I had a pair with aces and sarsmile had 3 two's, he has a better combination, but I can have more points.
It's probably more complicated than that, but Doc's the specialist ;)

I hope Arn closes it tomorrow in Fedcup. Would be a huge disappointment if we don't make the semis after a very good fedcup season.

But to reach the SF, I suppose you had more than a pair of aces :p So Sarsmile probably has a straight flush or a full house (or another high combination)! :worship: I guess I'm gonna lose to him with a similar score  :tape:

You got that right. I was playing so well, I'm actually surprised I lost. Sarsmile just hit a lot of lucky shots ;) Nah, it's a very good win from him, cause i think I got a pretty good combo.

Not even mentionning I'm fearing injuries might come along.she didn't lose pathetically  Yes, she was tired this week. But she's played so well for the big part of the year, that loss is not very important ;) Btw, I prefer my favorite player to enter every tournament every week as long as she stays healthy, rather than being injured or out of the courts for months :p You got that right. Now, now, Crow and Ceze, Sarsmile is definitely not 'he'. :p Our 'You Knows' team is all female. ;) And speaking of Sarsmile, she has a joker this leg, so that definitely helped her combination. :)

SINGLES
The final!!!
Ceze ( 3 ) def Sarsmile ( 38 ) 7-5 6-3
Jokers and spare cards gave Sarsmile a great help, but it was not enough against 4 Aces: it’s the first time ever a Tennis Poker player wins two consecutive singles event. :D
Among all the titles gathered by Ceze in past few weeks, this one was the toughest one as Fiona and Tete lost only by 12 points. Of course Ceze was this leg top scorer but Tennace did a great job too with the 6th best combination, while the Europeans were #4 and #8. :yeah:
Shocking upset. :speakles:
The Belgians go out in the quarterfinals despite their worst score was 298.
Maybe it was not lucky to have their top scorer The Crow, with over 900 points (and exactly the same score of Tetetubby), stuck in the doubles rubber, but on the other hand Fiona could have beaten both Arn and Per4ever, so overall it makes sense a team with 2 of the top 8 performances of this leg beats a team with only one.
O.L.D. F.A.R.T.S. from Geriatrica ( 10 ) vs Poker...Dotted...Zebras featuring the Left Coast Elite ( 11 )
2 - 3
Brian Stewart ( 1 ) – RayRob ( 2 ) 6-2 6-0
La Abuela ( 2 ) – KC ( 1 ) 3-6 4-6
Doris Loeffel ( 4 ) & Valda Lake ( 5 ) – RayRob ( 2 ) & Jamie Saeng-Wa ( 3 ) 6-4 5-7 7-6
Tim Wilson ( 3 ) – Jamie Saeng-Wa ( 3 ) 6-4 5-7 3-6
Brian Stewart ( 1 ) – KC ( 1 ) 4-6 7-6 5-7
Another shocking upset. :speakles:
The Zebras didn’t win a tie out of 10 in the Round Robin, but they start winning when they can’t lose anymore.
The 2007 Fed Cup season is over for the Geriatrica team, who will play in the World Group II next season.

And that's it, it was an amazing leg with Ceze breaking a lot of records, and it will be interesting to see how ranking will change as there were some huge top scores and at the same time many posters are dropping a lot of points.
Thank you all for keeping this thread alive and really enjoyable to be a part of. :yeah:
See you soon for the results by event and the updated rankings! :wavey:
