interesting for Romania to have a contender from the 91 batch. So far I think the younger standouts are Pavlyuchenkova (91), Hofmanova (91), Pervak (91), Larcher De Brito (93) and Orlik (93). Its a good groupd for Andreea to be associated with. Wonder what will she accomplish in future.

Alexandra Damaschin won the Championship singles. She has 16 years old and she is verry talented.
Simona was injured and she didn't play at Championships.

I finally got to watch Mitu play on the Antalya livestream and I really like her game. Nice forehand crosscourt to open the angles and good BH which she uses to hit winners CC and DTL. She moves really well too. Obviously her serve is pretty weak and she would need to beef it up a little or add more kick to rise up further than she is now. Her game reminds me of Olaru in the sense that she plays smarts tennis and moves very well.

Andreea reached the semis of AKB this week, before falling to unranked qualifier Ana Savic, who is on a comeback. Ana went on to win the tournament while dropping only one set in 8 matches.

This is a huge win :) I'm so happy for her right now. She's one of the only 19-23 yo Romanians in which I still have faith to have a late bloom. I think she could be better in a few years than some of our top 100 girls. She wasn't impressive at all in juniors and yet is fastly progressing in the WTA rankings. And she's only 3 days younger than me

Curcubeu

She's coached by Bogdan Popovici who achieved the same with Cadantu, why not with Mitu as well? Seems to be a great coach.

And I haven't seen much of her lately, but from what I've seen she has the exactly same forehand technique than Alex C., but she needs to put on more muscles and power.

Translated by google

Nice win today :)

Sara Sorribes Tormo is a good up-and-coming claycourt specialist, but I pretty much doubt she will become an all around player, at least not in this part of her career. She pulled some upsets this year on clay (she beat top 300 players: Gojnea, Perrin, Gamiz, Kozlova, even the top 70 Annika Beck.), but I'm almost sure she wouldn't beat Majeric.

Belle de Jour

I never said Sorribes Tormo will beat Majeric, all I said was that although Nottingham is her first tournament on grass she seems to do well on this surface and could be a dangerous opponent for Andreea :)

Mada Gojnea ended her professional career after that loss with SST :(

Anyway, Andreea is gonna take on Majeric as she won today 61 57 60. Quite expeditive, but she needed a decisive there

Regarding her draw, she's 1-0 against Sharon, but this is their first meeting on grass, and Sharon's had a great grass season. If Andreea does beat her, but loses the next match, she'll have made a non-calender Gtrand Slam of second-round qualifying losses. We'll see what happens this time ;)

Mituleasa won!!! 63 67(3) 62.

I knew it! She always likes to cause an upset in the Grand Slam first round of qualies

Monica being a drama queen.
Irina-Camellia throwing away another marathon tiebreak.
Raluca flopping to players you have never heard of
and Cristina pulling an upset in GS qualies.

An ordinary Romanian tennis day.

Yaay. Cool :D
Camerin next.
Cristina beat the Italian in the last year's US Open qualifying draw in their only match.

I hope it won't be the case here. She knows how to handle Camerin, I think she can win at least one more match here :)

4-6; 4-6 against a top 10 is a very normal result - maybe this is strange :)

120 of her 191 points in race from 3 GS quali matches.

This is what I call efficiency.

I would have liked to watch this match just to see Sharon bitch out

Mitu is 1-0 against Camerin, and has the psychological edge of being ranked higher. I think Mitu will win, and thus not complete the dubious honor of a Q2 Grand Slam.

Looks like a legit injury scoreline.

Makes me realize as well that Alexandra D. must have been injured herself when she nearly lost Guisard at some 25k.
