Welcome to Portoroz, Slovenia! Jarmila Gajdosova won the title here last year, beating defending finalist Klara Zakopalova in the final. Zakopalova has returned, but Gajdosova has not, probably scared by possibly the best Tier IV field in history. Top seed Tatiana Golovin has to be considered a favorite, but she will no doubt be challenged by Gisela Dulko, Vera Zvonareva, Zakopalova, and Vesnina. Veterans Meilen Tu and Meghann Shaughnessy could also make some noise, and never count out hometown girl Katerina Srebotnik. It should be an exciting week of tennis. Vote now as the competition gets underway!
