As I'm sure most of you know, 1 or more of the 40 Slams played from 1990-1999 were won by the following group of 12:

1.Graf
2. Seles
3. Navratilova
4. Sabatini
5. Sanchez Vicario
6. Martinez
7. Pierce
8. Hingis
9. Majoli
10. Novotna
11. Davenport
12. S. Williams

With the 2007 US Open now completed, 32 Slams have been played since January 2000 and 1 or more was won by one of the following group of 11:

1. Davenport
2. Pierce
3. V. Williams
4. Capriati
5. S. Williams
6. Henin-Hardenne
7. Myskina
8. Sharapova
9. Kuznetsova
10. Clijsters
11. Mauresmo

Now with 8 Slams left until the close of the 00's, do you think the current group will tie or surpass the 90's group of 12 winners? OR do you think there will be no other new GS champion for the remainder of the decade?

I think the '00 group will tie the 90's but NOT surpass them because Henin, Venus and Serena are too dominant.

It could happen, but it would have to be a 2004 French Open type of thing; if Justine for some reason doesn't win, practically anyone else could.

I think the 00's group will surpass the 90's group.

Within the next 2 years only 2 of these players need to win a slam, and I think they are all capable of it; Vaidisova, Ivanovic, Jankovic, Chakvetadze, Safarova, Paszek

I think it will happen.

I think the 00's will surpass the 90's since they're some youngsters who're pretty promising at the moment.:)

I say yes with 2 new Grand Slam winners in the person of Ana Ivanovic & Agnes Szavay.

I predict that there will be 1 first-time slam winner next year.

I'm pretty sure there will be at least one new Grand Slam winner in the next 2 years.

I think the '00 group will tie the 90's but NOT surpass them because Henin, Venus and Serena are too dominant.

It's also interesting to note that if you remove the players who only won a single Slam in that time period only the following players remain in the 90s group:

1. Graf
2. Seles
3. Hingis
4. Sanchez-Vicario
5. Davenport

While in the 00s group, the players with more than one Slam from 2000-2007 are:

1. V. Williams
2. Capriati
3. S. Williams
4. Henin-Hardenne
5. Sharapova
6. Mauresmo
