Larissa Liashenko arrives in Prague

Today, at 4:00 pm local time, Larissa Liashenko of Belarus arrived in Prague where she will play in the 50K challenger. Liashenko, the 2001 Junior French Open champion commited late to the tournament and will be unseeded. She should have been seeded 3rd. I interviewed Larissa after her practice session.

*Question* Larissa, first things first, how is your foot?

*Liashenko* My foot is 100% now. I'm moving really well.

*Question* You commited late to this tournament, therefore, you are not seeded. What do you think about that?

*Liashenko* I don't care not being seeded. It doesn't change anything.

*Question* What about playing Carmen Prado in the first round? She is seeded 4th.

*Liashenko* You know, I respect her, she plays a good game. I watched some tapes of her with my coach and I know exacly how I will play her. Eventought she is seeded 4th, It really doesn't matter.

*Question* How do you feel about the upcomming season? Are you ready? Can you make a move to the top?

*Liashenko* I'm very confident about next season. I played really well in the Junior in the first part of this season and I'm very satisfied with my performence in the pros. I won a tournament in Vienna beating Jane, Ruflina, and Selima so, yes I think I'm ready! I definetly think I can move up the rankings. My goal is to be around the top 10-12 before Wimbledon.

*Question* Thanks Larissa and good luck this week!

*Liashenko* Thank you very much!!!

Monica Gambill happy with draw!

Monica Gambill arrived early in Prague in order to practice for the tournamnet next week. She said she was happy with her draw.<br />'I don't mind the draw even though i am playing Paula who is a great player i'm leading our head to head 3-2,she did win our last meeting in Bolton but she played amazing there!I hope i can return the favour here and gain some needed points for my ranking which is really low at the moment because my results have been very dissapointing'<br />'This is my last tournament of the year so i'll be straight off to austrailia for christmas and new year in order to play the austailian hard court season'<br />'This season has been up and down for me i won a match at the US open and got to a semi, quarter and final in challengers and i've won a doubles title but bar that i've lost first round'<br />'Next year i'm hoping to improve, become more consistant and get into the top 30.If i fail to achive this i will quit tennis and go back to full time education!'

Madonika Diva Jahfson once again routinely put out Lindsay Anne Sarile, 6-1 7-5! However Jahfson had more important issues on her mind. Once again she stunned the crowd by walking out naked on court. On her chest there was a message for all to see "MEXICO SHOULD BE IN CONNOLY CUP YOU STUPID DOKIC BITCH!"<br />Officials tried to get Madonika to put some clothes on, but she proceeded in playing the entire match naked. Sarile was stunned and very much distracted which sparked up controversy that she is a lesbian!<br />In Madonika's press conference she had the following to say:<br />"I would just like to say that everyone on tour hates Jelena Dokic and what she did in not including Mexico in the Connoly Cup, is just ignorant and idiotic. A lot of the tour supported me in doing this tonight, including Anna-Maria Herrera, Caroline Mutola, and Carolina Spencer. Mexico should definitaly be in the Connoly Cup, I hope Dokic gets it through her crusty old head! EVERYONE HATES YOU DOKIC LEAVE THE TOUR!!!!!!!!!"

comments from lindsay anne sarile:

"i was quite annoyed with her (madonika diva jafhson) little exhibition earlier. the crowd was really booing her. she took her sweet time to get up to the service line to start the match and by that time i as really ticked-off. it was really hard to concentrate. however, she did play well and i am not one to make up excuses when i lose. im not going to comment on whaetver childish thing she said. im going to concetrated on doubles now."

Monica Gambill would like to say

'You are the stupid bitch Madonika Jahfson, going out on court naked! What a stupid ho!I mean she;s stupid for what she did eveyone likes Jelena well i do anyway!I think she should be banned from the tour permanetly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

Dec 17th, 2001, 08:39 PM
"Oh FUCK YOU stupid bitches! Atleast I have the body to pull it off baby! Y'all need to tuck your rolls in before you start talking! And to Lindsay Anne Sarile...BITCH SIT YOUR ASS DOWN considering this is the 5th time in a row I have whooped your ass! Try getting out of the qualifying rounds whore! The tour can kiss my ass!"

All my love, <br />Madonika!

Dec 17th, 2001, 09:25 PM
'I(monica Gambill) think i will boycott unless Madonika is banned.I hope others will join me in protest her attitude and her presance is NOT wnated on the tour'

Monica said this today and also added

'Jelena Dokic should not be scared or hurt by these actions.Shes a great girl and i'm sure the whole tour likes her!'

Dec 17th, 2001, 09:49 PM
Jelena Dokci thanks Monica Gambill for her support.

She thinks everyone should just ignore Madonika, that's what Jelena plans to do. Jelena's in the top 10, she plays the big events, the last thing on her mind is Madonika.

Lindsay Ann: Don't worry about Madonika, it's plain to see you have class. Stay tough, we're behind you.

By far the biggest controversy Madonika Jahfson has created, today after she lost in three tough sets to Anabel Conde Martinez, Jahfson went up to shake hands and just as she approached the net where Anabel Conde Martinez was waiting for her, Jahfson slapped the shit out of Martinez! The slap heard around the world.

Martinez was stunned but had not chance to respond as Jahfson walked off court without even shaking hands with the umpire. She refused to speak to the press afterwards and departed to London where she will continue shooting her pornographic film "Plump and Juicy"

Jahfson's agent however did release a statement from Jahfson 2 hours after the match

<font size=5><br />"Jahfson was sent to hospital by Conde's killers"</font>

Madonika Jahfson is recovering slowly of the injuries caused by a group of people who struck repeatedly the bitch when she was walking for the street, causing to her a pelvic fracture. The panic is running around at Madonika's hometown as experts anticipate that the pelvic fracture of madonika will be the cause of the greatest crisis of the corners of the streets of the city as lot of whores and gigolos have lost thier best client.<br />Bad tongues say that the group of killers were sent by FWTT star Anabel Conde but obvious she denied it: " Omg do you really think that a sweety person like me could do something like that? jiji ; i am very sad for Madonika, i was very very displeased and i sent to hospital a present for her" - what was it? -" oh we all know how bitch she is so i sent her what she more wants, a sex toy but oops my boys made their work too good and i think she wont use it for a long long time jeje" - your boys? - "i said my boys? ups i meant that boys...."

Comment from Jahfson:

"ROTFLMAOO!!! The only one who got slapped around was you bitch! I am perfectly fine and the only one who needs a trip to the hospital is you...the mental hospital that is! Next time you try to send someone out to beat me, make sure they DO the job...because all they did was get a circus tent in their pants when they saw my body! You can't handle this, baby! Now sit your ass down! And honey while you are at it atleast learn to swear in English or else don't because it makes you look less educated than Lindsay Anne Sarile and we know that bitch barely passed 2nd grade! And also...when the tampons get stuck, you call 911! Whoever let you prowl the streets amids civilians is as crazy as your stank ass!"

FWTT Finally takes action

Players and people in press were ansiously waiting for FWTT to say something about player Madonika Diva Jahfson. Finally FWTT decided to talk after Madonika Diva Jahfson slaped Spanish player Anabel Conde-Martinez in their 1st round match in the $50,000 Challenger held in Prage, CZE.

"We are not going to ban Madonika, and we can´t take actions because she express what she thinks but we can take actions when she "attacks" a player"

"As I said we are not going to ban Madonika and nothing like that... we are only asking and telling Madonika to PLEASE be less expressive in her commentaries... we are not saying to do not express her feelings or to do not post.. we are only asking respect to the other people in the tour"

This was said in a press conference... it was also said that if it was a second time they would take different actions but that this time they are only asking to be a bit more respectfull.

Gianna Adrianna Dulko is very satisfied with reaching the semi-finals in Prague. Being in Eastern Europe, and close to her homeland of Poland, Dulko had the accompaniment of her family and fans to support her. Well, it sure helped. Despite a very disappointing first round loss in doubles with her talented partner Anabel Conde-Martinez, Dulko upset no.1 seed and top 25 player Hong Da-Jung (HKG) in straight sets. <img src="redface.gif" border="0"> <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> She then managed to take revenge on Gisele Noventz of Spain, after three consecutive head-to-head losses to the Spaniard, winnning in straight sets. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> Despite her talented play, Dulko eventually fell to Spaniard Adriana Gonzalez in 3 sets, wasting 3 match points while leading 6-1 6-5 40-0. She fell 1-6 7-6 (3) 6-1. Nevertheless, this is a breakthrough for Dulko, who has been struggling since reaching the final of her first event. But Dulko has shown her strength, and at no.39 in the world, she hopes to break into the top 30 soon. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> Seeing her play in Prague, that could be very well soon. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Liashenko reaches the final!!!

Today in Prague, Larissa Liashenko, the 6'3 from Belarus, won her 1/2 final match against Monica Gambill 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(4). Liashenko took control of the match early with her booming forehand. Leading 5-2 in the first set, the Belarussian hit 3 aces and a drop shot winner the win the set.

In the second set, Gambill, a young player from Great Britain, found her marks. She kept Liashenko moving with nice angle shots. Gambill raced to a 5-1 lead in no time. She closed out the set with a backhand passing shot down the line.

The third set was nicely played by both players. A lot of rallies went over 20 shots. Liashenko got a 3-1 lead before Gambill got the momentum back on her side to break twice and lead 4-3. Then, at 5-4 Liashenko, the best rally of the tournament occured. A rally that lasted 41 shots. Gambill won that rally wrong footing her opponent. At 6-6, the players looked very tired. They were very even til 4-4. From then, Larissa Liashenko was all alone on the court.

Larissa Liashenko wins the title in Prague

Another perfect week for Larissa Liashenko ended with a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 win over Spaniard Adriana Gonzalez. The win was Liashenko's second title the month of December. Eventhought the tournaments she won are not major ones, the 17 year old from Belarus is very happy.

Question : Larissa, another perfect tournament?

Liashenko : Well, I wouldn't say perfect but I'm extremelly satisfied with the win. I played well, but my game still needs a little improvements.

Question : Like what?

Liashenko : My backhand got wild a few times this week. I'll have to check with my coach to see whats wrong. The rest of my game was at 100%. My serve was my best weapon this week. Once, in the match against Prado, I even hit one over 115mph which is very good. My forehand was great as always. I think that if I can get my backhand going again, I could be very dangerous in 2002.

Question : What about your match against Gonzalez today?

Liashenko : I was very surprised on how she played. I knew she had beaten good players like Dulko but I was shocked when the match started. The match started well for me, I got the early break and never lost it. The score was 6-3, but it was a tough set. In the second set, I got blown away. I kept trying to do something, but everything I did, she did better. All the credit to her, you know. I think in the first set, she was a little intimidated by me, but in that second set, she just went for her shots! The third set was a very tough one. I got throught but it was very tough like the score said. I got the crucial break at 5-5. I was very nervous serving for the match but my serve, once again got me throught.

Question : Satisfied with your 2001 season?

Liashenko : Oh yes! I won 3 tournaments in Vienna, Mexico and here in Prague. I also beat top players. I have a victory against Jane Wong, Ruflina Taliamanosoko, Nicole Arenot and Selima Valentine. Not a lot of players can say that!

Question : Where are you going from here?

Liashenko : I'll be going back to Belarus for a week to see my family and to train. Then I'll go to New Zealand to play at the ABS BANK classic. After that I'll be playing in Canberra, Melbourne and Paris. I haven't decided my schedule after that.

Question : Good luck in 2002!

Liashenko : Thank you very much!!!
