Not sure about going to Moscow after three weeks out in Asia, but if it works out, good for her :yeah:

Sep 9th, 2007, 08:18 PM
yeah, i agree but then again, i doubt she'll be getting into the semis or finals of these tournies (although i wont rule it out!) so i think she'll be getting sufficient rest. Hopefully she can get a good draw because A QF would be great

Sara Errani is world no.90. She's a good player but the majority of her tournaments have been on clay and thats where she's gotten her best results. Shes gotten to 3 tier III Semis this year, 2 on clay, one this week in bali. It's deinatly going to be tough but i believe that anne can do it. Hopefully Errani will be tired too. :p

Anne lost to Rolle 6-1, 6-1

Sep 25th, 2007, 01:14 PM

she said she was injured because her plane was delayed and shes gonna play some ITFs in Australia to try and get into the top 100 or at least AO cutoff. She then has Quebec City and if she isn't in top 100, AO Cutoff position, she'll probably play a couple more ITFs.

Sep 26th, 2007, 12:45 PM
She has a good shot!

Sep 30th, 2007, 01:22 PM

Oct 3rd, 2007, 06:01 PM
Anynone got any info??

Oct 4th, 2007, 07:22 PM
she plays 25k Rockhampton in Oz next. Obviously shes trying to break into the top 100 by playing weaker tier 1s. Shes playing 3 in a row. Already been like 125 withdrawals in rockhampton so if she can win all 3 itfs, she'll be in top 100. If not, she has another shot at quebec.

Oct 4th, 2007, 07:45 PM
lol she lost 6/1 6/1 becuase her flight was late and her injury to her back tht she caused sleeping on a airport bench hehe that is y haha

Oct 4th, 2007, 09:22 PM

Hopefully with three weeks of healthy, good play, Anne will get to a double figure ranking :)

Europe rocks
Oct 6th, 2007, 09:16 PM
Just been looking at Eggy's rankings and Anne will have to play pretty well over the next three weeks to get to the top 100
100. Ekaterina Bychkova 352pts
121. Anne Keothavong 298pts

Difference of 54pts, so Anne has to win two of the three challengers and then get another win at the other challenger, but of course with points coming off and other players getting points, she may have to go and win all three

Oct 6th, 2007, 09:19 PM
yeah, i think she'll have to win all 3. Or at least 2 but then she'll need to win a match a quebec.

anne's title and top 100 campaign begins in style - 6-0 6-1.

Oct 25th, 2007, 02:01 PM
Good start Anne.

Has Anne blew her chances of getting to top 100 by the end of this year now after pulling out of the last tourney injured? What's the best position she could theoretically be in by the end of the season?

Sorry - the ranking system confuses me quite a bit.

Oct 25th, 2007, 06:17 PM
^ The top 100 is definatly still in sight for anne. Dno how high in the top 100 she can get though. It depends on what tournies she plays.

Oct 26th, 2007, 06:01 PM
^No shes on the list for 1 more aussie tournie. Its a tough task but if she can win it, she could sneak a AO MD place.

Oct 26th, 2007, 06:10 PM
It's infuriating this has happened when she's so close to the AO cutoff, but she shouldn't play it though if she's gonna keep re-aggravating the injury.

Oct 29th, 2007, 10:22 PM
She does have a weeks rest, though.

Absolutely awful luck. Probably the best decision though for the long-term. If she can recover well in the off-season and keep up the form she's been in since Wimbledon, I think she'll be a top 100 player next year. Best of luck Anne.

Nov 3rd, 2007, 01:38 PM

I followed the match on the live scores and am very disappointed. She lost alot all of the long points and was 3-1 down in the second set and after making it 3-3, she didnt come close to holding serve :o

fed cup but I dont think she will play much for the team - they are very even. Even Mel with her ranking, because for me she is playing 100 places above it.

I think the plan was that she would be in midland longer than the 1st round and wouldnt be back for the qualifying for Antwerp but she obviously was :p

Im pretty sure she will play Memphis and I would like to see her play the weak tier 2 in India between Memphis and IW but I dont think she will

She won which I am very happy about but it's her 13/14th ITF title. That's waaaaay too much. She's really got to make a sustained breakthrough into the top tier of tennis. She's good enough to do it.

Feb 25th, 2008, 03:27 PM
Congrats Anne :rocker2:

But I agree, she could make the top 100 by Wimbledon if she start playing the Tiers, not the ITFs. If she qualified for IW or Miami and won 1 round she would rise 10-20places (I think )

Hopefully well see her playing in the qualy events soon :)

a few of those ITFs was when Anne played 10k's after her injury. its not that bad

Feb 25th, 2008, 06:31 PM
fair enough... I just want her to get to the point where she can challenge at the tier 3s and 4s the way she does at the ITFs. Thats the only way she can truly reach her potential. I really hope she can put her hatred of clay to one side and hopefully at least go deep in the FO qualies. I think it's a good omen, however, that after Her great lexington and Vancouver, she was willing to play wta events in a row. It shows that she really wants to go to the next level.

GET TO THE FINAL ANNE! She's should be british number one right now. It will be interesting to see where Katie will be after Wimbledon. :p

Apr 2nd, 2008, 02:18 PM
Anne won 6-2 6-4. Anne's played 29 tournaments in the 52 weeks and Katie, 30 which means that if Anne gets to the final, she'll be british no.1 I think. She plays the winner of an all w/c match so Sf is more than possible.

3 down, 2 to go! 7-5 7-6(10) now plays Vogt rather than top seed Obziler. Vogt beat her 6-0 6-1 so i'm guessing she's in good form but I think that Anne can take her. :)

And Mel won so we could see an Anne-Mel final! (or an Anne-Naomi one)

Apr 3rd, 2008, 05:59 PM

36 57 loss :( could have won that...

next tournament is the 75k in Monzon, Spain...I hope she still plays because it is a good entry list, a couple of top 100 players, and wins would give her confidence and she will be become british number 1 if she outperforms Katie, who is also going.
However, I want to see her compete in some WTA Qualie events, such as Prague or Estoril, maybe Berlin or Rome. I know Anne isnt a fan of the clay but if shes going to do well at Roland Garros then she needs some matches and hopefully some wins on the surface. Good luck in spain though, for now :)
