Right...

I was playing WTA Tour Tennis and was losing 6-0 5-0 matchpoint to love down vs. Lindsay Davenport... the final result was 0-6, 7-6, 6-3! (I just worked out how to play her all of a sudden)

I just want to know... has a player ever come back from such a similar defecit in a GS? As in a set down and 5 games down at matchpoint against and won?

Also... has there ever been a double bagel GS final?

Who was the last player to play in a GS with a wooden racket?

I can't answer the first q Joey, but yes, a slam final or two has been 6-0 6-0. Graf over Zvereva in the 88 French, and Chambers over Boothby(I think it was Boothby) in 1913 at Wimbledon.

I hope someone answers your question about wood. My best guess(and it's only a guess) would be Evert or Navratilova in the early 1980s.

Joey - its happened a few times, theres a thread about it somewhere, which lists all the matches won after saving matchpoints.

And yes, Graf bt Zvereva 6-0 6-0 in the Roland Garrod final of 1988.

And I believe the last player to play on the tour with a wooden racket was Borg on one of his aborted comebacks...not sure if he played at GS level that time time though...

Answer to one of your questions:

there has been at least one double-bagle-Slam-final, the one in which Steffi Graf beat Natasha Zvereva 6-0 6-0.

That was the French Open final from 1988.

About the 5-0-and-still-win-question: I guess it's happened more than once, but I really have no clue which matches that were!

Chanda Rubin came back to beat Jana Novotna at the French one year from a set and 5-0 and I think it was 40-0 to win the match!!!

Joey - perhaps you should pass your newfound knowledge on to Jelena Dokic? ;)

1975 U.S. Open SF. (t was still played on grass in hose days.)

Guillermo Vilas was leading Manuel Orantes 6-4 6-1 2-6 5-0 40-0

Triple match point.

Orantes wins 4-6 1-6 6-2 7-5 6-4

Yeah she won 1-6,7-6,7-6  in Lipton 1995 semi final.

MJ Fernendez beat Sabatini French open QF 1993 from the same deficit winning 10-8 in the third .
