Lost 6-7 6-3 3-6

Was a great qualifying tournament for Naomi though. Having won two matches and came close in her third.

:yeah: and Good Luck for the rest of the year Nomes!

How was it great?

She won her first match via retirement even though she was losing. :tape:
Beat a claycourter and then lost to Poutchek who absolutely has nothing to hurt decent players. :o

Hardly great nor impressive.

It's great when its a girl representing Great Britain. A couple of wins (even though one was by retirement) is excellent at this tour level. We don't get many successes like this, so when we do have one, we should shout about it.

A Brit reaches the final round of a Tier 2 qualifying event?

How impressive!

Still waiting for the miraculous day when a Brit starts to regularly get into the main draw of high tier events outside the UK.

Never mind Naomi. Hopefully it was good experience and she'll keep trying.

Decent performance by Naomi. We know she can do better, but the transition from $25K and $50K events to the tour is pretty tough, but we know she can do it :yeah:

That would involve one of the Murrays impregnating Jankovic - hopefully not Judy... :p
