Now she'll be #78! Up 91 places!!

Zi had the most amazing win ever, though, hitting winner after winner and barely any UE's.
It's too bad Marion retired :tape:

Has defeated two 2007 GS Finalists in the same tournament, dropping under four games each time :worship: :hearts: :inlove:

Zi played stunning tennis. She is definitely a top 5 player in the making playing like this. Well, maybe if she improves her serve But nevertheless, she takes it SO early and hits the lines. Great mover, great return of serve, great volleys. But of course, can she keep it up?

I know. Marion probably holds the WTA Tour record for retirements. In 2005, she probably retired from more matches than she played. I'm a fan of Marion's, and the retirement thing had gotten better, but now I'm worried.

I know Marion retires alot but it is very clear there is a nasty bug going around and I wouldn't be tough on Marion for retiring. I hope she gets better soon.

As for Yan, what can I say? I'm delighted she is in a Tier I semi and I hope she gives a great account of herself. She really deserves her big rise up the rankings and hope this is just the beginning. She is a fine asset to the current crop of women players. I like her alot.

Bartoli didn't even go to shake her hand...Zi had to walk over to her...Bartoli thinks a little too much of herself I think...When over the next few months she continues to have average results to match her average talent maybe she'll get a reality check. Retiring this frequently is pathetic.

Gutted for Marion! Same points as Daniela but not in TOP 10! Hope it happens soon.
Well done Yan. Amazing week.... How FIT does she look? I mean.. Wow!

As for Marion always retiring from matches
in 2007 she retired in TWO matches (to Llagostera Vives in Estoril at 62 31 and to Yan in Toronto at 62 30)
in 2006 she retired in TWO matches (to Castano in in Charleston at 54; and to Kloesel in Rabat at 62 20)
that is NOT a lot of retirements.. so people get off her back.
Other players have retired more times
Petrova has retired FOUR times in 2007
And so far most top players have retired at least once this year!
