Just some tidbits.
I was last at the Rogers Cup in 2001, but I don't remember the players roaming the grounds as much as this time. Meghann Shaughnessy and Shahar Peer were literally working out 2 feet away from me at different points. I could have tapped either one on the shoulder with no resistence from security. Shahar Peer had a look on her face that if you bothered her for an autograph during her warm up practice, she would cut you. I found her to be very business-like (which isn't bad.) Her doubles parter, Tathiana Garbin, was super sweet. She gave a lot of autographs, and I felt bad when people would ask her what her name was after asking her for an autograph  ;) She also has the most muscular thighs I have ever seen on a female
Eleni Daniilidou and Jasmin Woehr: ;) need I say more? I have no proof, and I will probably be starting a rumor, but these two have to have something going on besides being doubles partners. I watched their match against Dementieva/Pennetta, and Eleni would give Jasmin the look of death after she made an error. It could be that Eleni is super competitive in doubles, but I got the feeling that Eleni was telling Jasmin, "You're not getting any tonight with shots like that!", but I could be wrong. Then during Eleni's singles matches, Jamin would fervently clap the opponents errors and when Eleni walked by. She could just be super supportive, but I kind of got the feeling that Eleni tells Jamin if she doesn't see/hear her clapping she's in the dog house ;) Anyway, Eleni was very gracious to the fans and I got her autograph after her marathon match against Camerin. She's my new fav!
Ai Sugiyama was also very gracious to the fans. After her doubles match with partner Srebotnik against Loit/Tu, she signed autographs while Srebotnik waited in the background. Pfff. I thanked her for the autograph and she said, "you're welcome" :)
