Keothavong is the 20 times GS Champ right? From 1511-1531? I heard she defeated Henry the VIII several times, and at the end she was beheaded because of that. Of course she is greater!

i've scanned their careers and it's still pretty close...
Mauresmo 2 Grand Slams- Keothavong 1 Grand Slam 2nd Round

it's incredibally tight at the moment but I think Keothavong edges it slightly

maybe a few more match wins for Mauresmo and she might creep ahead

no... She couldnt possibly go to French Open..i'm pretty sure there was war with English, US was just discovered so it was never really found out if she met the Indian champion "Little Feather" at Flushing Meadows. Some sources say they played an epic match umpired by John Smith. She lost it as a John's revenge for beating Pocahontas in 2 tight sets. And she couldn't possibly have gone to Australia...so she played it all at Wimbledon, at the last practice before her 21st final, she defeated Henry and she was beheaded...thus the title was given to Helen Baltacha of Sherwood Forest, a mistress of infamous Robin Hood.

You missed the obvious "Maid Marion" connection with Mlle Bartoli, but that bit did make me laugh... :)

Marion was a spy sent by a french king. She made it to the finals in 1524. She sneaked into Henrys bed to receive a WC. But Henry was not satisfied cause the Frenchie was a bit overweight so he arranged her a WC into qualies. Back then it was 1024 qualifiying field. So Frenchie lost some 35kg on her way to the finals. Henry was so obsessed with this "sudden beauty" he ran to the cour and violated her in the 4th game of second set. Marion never really recovered after that and had to retire with "woman problems"

OK wiseguy... so why do you say Anna's career is better than Amelie? Apparently to you, a 2nd Round apperance in GS >>>>>>>>>>>>> 2 time GS winner.

It doesn't take rocket science to figure out that. :help:

Keothavong won more matches this year. She's definitely greater.

plus she's younger so she has heaps of potential to still win slams after mauresmo is gone, therfore she is greater. i think we have to wait till they play each other and the h2h can sort it out
