It's not that she lost. It's not that she lost to Fran. It's that she lost a three-setter.

That's what bugs me the most about some of Lena's losses this year. She used to be rock solid in threes.

Still, her last two tournaments were good results, so hopefully she'll get back on track. I wouldn't mind seeing Pennetieva pick up a nice couple of wins here either.

Some of you are taking this too seriously when it comes to Elena.

There's a reason why Schiavone hasn't played a hard court for the US Open Series until now.
The surface at Toronto are slow. The ball does not go through the court like in previous US Open Series tournaments.
All these things make for heavy conditions.

Don't know if it's been pointed out, but Elena has withdrawn from doubles due to a hamstring problem, which may explain some of her problems.
