I don't care if the quality was shit, and yes, Safina did hit 71 unforced errors (56 winners) - it was such an exciting match.
I'm so fucking devastated that Camille blew another match where she had a lead in the last set (*4-1 with a point for 5-1), let alone the fact that she blew another match against Dinara.
I actually wanted to cry when she was just sitting there watching the fireworks  It brings back memories of the Australian Open.
Camille - you are one of a kind. Your serves may be laughable, your "power index" might only be 78, but your defense is some of the most amazing and exciting tennis I have ever seen in my life. Fuck the haters

Camille is the biggest choker in third sets.
It makes me sad

F*ck the quality - entertaining match.
Didn't see this one as a choke - apart from Camille's legs going in her last service game when she was broke.
Safina raised her level to come back late in the third set. It was looking like a no. 15 ranked playing a 91. Although our Cammy should be a lot higher.

Watching this match has just made me a Safina-Hater....She is just ANNOYING
I must agree. Way too much noise from her the racquet smashing the cmons! to the otlichna's to the rambling words to the screeching another form of shrieking on her side of the court. It was all her.
Poor Camille. You can't really say she choked the 4-1 2 break lead she played the same the whole match it was just Dinara who varied her game that tinch to win it.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Ninth seed Dinara Safina survived a first-round scare at the $1.3 million Toronto Cup on Monday before rallying to tame Frenchwoman Camille Pin 7-6 3-6 7-5.
Trailing 4-1 in the third set, Safina swept the next four games to claw her way back before finishing off the 91st-ranked Pin with a forehand winner to end the two hour 36 minute battle.
Pin, who has played just one match win since Barcelona in June, had the 14th-ranked Russian in deep trouble with back-to-back breaks in the third set but could not deliver the knockout punch.
"I think I can say, I'm not one who will give an easy match," Safina told reporters. "I always try to fight for every point, especially when you don't feel like 100 percent.
"Then there is no other way, just shut up and fight."

I'm glad she figured out she could use a bit more topsin on some of her shots and to be a tad more patient.
I kind of like Camille's game. Very consistent and can really hang in those rallies. Too bad she lacks a putaway/finishing (can't think of the word :o) shot.

camille cleary has a game that annoys dinara. all she needs to work on his the mental side of her game and she could have beaten dinara twice this year (that i can remember)

Pin could have a great group of victories this year, unfortunately she isn't able to close matches.
Aug 14th, 2007, 09:32 AM
Shame for Camille. She came close, but Dinara held on there.
Camille could easily have taken it.
Aug 14th, 2007, 09:48 AM
When I saw 1-4* in the last set I knew Camille would still lose.
