I think despite the Williams domination at Roland Garros and Wimbledon there is lots of talent who could topple them!. I just wanna know what you think.....

Well, not too far outside the top 8......perhaps a Mauresmo-Hantuchova final ;)

If it is an all Williams final again I hope Venus wins it to stop it getting predictable.

Everyone's talking about it always being only the Williams competing for titles, but I reckon it could be soon a case of just Serena competing on her own and winning every toureny. In the last 2 Slam finals Venus hasn't looked half the player that Serena is.

Hopefully Hingis or Davenport will make some sort of impact when they return.

Serena and Venus, unless JenCap can start amping up her game a bit (service as well as overall aggression). Or Martina + Lindsay come back firing.

One thing to keep in mind...pressure.
V + S made the finals last year and they are overwhelmingly favored to do so again this year. Venus has shown she can handle the pressure of defending a major, will Serena? At this point I will say yes, but who knows. Her '00 Open defense was derailed in the quarters in straights by Lindsay, but she is head and shoulders above everyone right now, except Venus.

Everything has been going well for the William sisters.
Too well.
Surely they will have to trip at some point......... i predict the US Open.

Williams vs. Williams, this time, with a different outcome!

it'll be hard for the other players to stop Venus and Serena on hardcourts.

Probably Williams vs Williams. If there are some upsets it's not out of the question for either Amelie or Daniela to make the final against either Venus or Serena, but I'm certainly not counting on it. An Amelie vs Daniela final would be my ideal.

People are talking about an all williams final because they are the two best players on the planet. Period. Yes they can be beat but what happend on the clay of roland garros? What happend on the grass of wimbledon? Right now unless the other girls radically improve their games or venus and serena spiral into some kind of tennis funk, there will be no one in the final without the last name of williams.

Love them or hate them, they are the best. Just look at their records for 2002.

Obviously the safest is williams-williams
not because they are sure to win
but because they are almost ascertained of the top 2 seeds and are hence on opposite halves ;)

but anyway i'm picking martina-player X

I think Hingis might suprise us all and make the final. She always comes back well after injury/rest.

I'd like a Clijsters/Hantuchova Final but can't see it happening if i'm honest.

Mark my words. JenCap would be a finalist. She has no pressure on her as most people expect both williams to make it to the final, and have already put jenn out of contention; that is the position Jenn likes to be.

:bounce: Go Jenn :bounce:
:bounce: Go american girls @ USO :bounce:

I hate this cliche phrase but this time I'll use it anyway: This is a "no-brainer". It's Venus vs. Serena (again).

Venus and Serena!!!

Well on opposite sides of the draw Venus & Serena have a good chance of making it, they aren't invincible though. Also why are so many of you sure they will be top seeds?

Venus defended all but one of her tournaments up to the US Open and she still was like #4 by the time the open rolled around. They may not be one and two. Still rankings don't seem to stop them from doing anything :)

I will say I think one of them will for sure make it to the final.

Lindsay and Martina depending on how they play, could also stir up the pot. However I see Lindsay being much more of a threat to Jennifer than the sisters. Monica could also make an impact.

Finals I'd like to see

Williams/Williams

S.Williams/Seles

V.Williams/Hingis

V.Williams/Davenport

Davenport/Seles
