The WTT season is upon us. Does anyone besides me follow it? And, does anyone have tickets or attend regularly?

I'm actually covering all of the New York Buzz home matches for On The Line (http://www.tennis-ontheline.com) . Right now you can check out a detailed account of last night's season opener against Meghann Shaughnessy and the Hartford FoxForce. Next up are the St. Louis Aces (with Andy Roddick and Olga Barabanschikova), who'll be here on Wednesday evening.

I'll be taking photos at the Lasers home games (and also at the upcoming Fed Cup U.S. vs. Israel matches). I'm glad we were able to keep Anastasia on our WTT team! Thanks Chris_G for the info; I'll make it a point to read your reports.

I didn't realize Maria was playing WTT. I won't get to see her until July 28, but I'm definitely looking foward to checking out one of the young talents of the tour.
Anyone out there attending WTT matches, please post photos.

can someone fill me in on this?
Jul 10th, 2002, 09:10 PM
Philadelphia has a team, so I was thinking about trying to go.but the season is so short and i already think I have conflicts with the home games.
Plus, I can kind of take or leave Alexandra Stevenson. It would be nice to see Corina, of course, but truth be told I didnt' follow her career much before she got sick so its not like I'm dying to see her play either. I really wanted to see Lindsay play but don't think that is going to work out.

Anastasia :( The Lasers are 0 and 2 so far. Hope that turns around tomorrow at the home game!
Raj, take a look at the link I posted above. It contains loads of information about WTT.

pff I don't give a damn about this WTT... I wish Nastya didn't spend her time playing those stupid exbos and took a rest and practice for the US hard season.
well, it looks like wtt is the only way Stevenson can bt Nastya, hehe :)
If Myskina was that dominat player on Stevenson she was supposed to win her everywhere like some user who posted here SAID.. Well
GO PHILLY ALEX AND ALEXORINA :D

I have a question their tv schedule says their showing the freedom vs. smash event tomorrow on Madison Square Garden Network at 2-4 p.m. and other networks too, anyway I have DirecTv and I've looked ahead on the schedule for that channel and in my tv guide and neither says anything about it, is it just a local thing for the philadelphia-new york area or what.
Jul 15th, 2002, 12:08 AM
vbn it's set up like a draft. As for the programming, I have cable, and I watched the Freedoms and the Smash. My first glimpse of Maria, and I have to say she's impressive.
OMG!! Rachel McQuillan finally beat a Top 100 player again since umm... LAST YEAR! :o I am so happy!!

Anastasia won the whole thing for the Lasers this evening by defeating Elena and taking us to the supertiebreaker where she again defeated Elena. A few digital photos, below. I'm taking a few rolls of film from the first two home matches to develop tomorrow.
Elena & Ashley
OK - These are the only photos I could get with the digital camera and they're not very good. This digital camera likes to pause before it takes the photo and it drives me NUTS. It's all a matter of luck with the damn thing.
HOWEVER, I got several stills on my video camera, as well as two regular rolls of film. I will drop the film off tomorrow night and scan and post them as soon as I can.
