expected result.shoulda been 6-1,6-4. dont know why people just aassumed martina was automatically gonna get to the semi or finals as if patty and nadia could both beat her. good luck against petrova. you'll need it.

ugh, she faught back and won a tough second set, but ran out of gas in the 3rd.

Patty is no walkover, but Martina will have to keep improving her fitness if she as any plans to make week 2 at Flushing

Well the first half of my prediction came true - although I thought Patty would win in 2...hopefully the second half won't come true - but Patty seems to follow up a good win by getting smoked by whoever she plays next, whether she's the favorite or not.

So many times we say ''Hingis should've''...

I'm over it.....really frustrated right now, I can't argue her case anymore with these losses.....these bloody leads she establishes.... 3-1 third set.....and she decides ''enough''....I'll lose the next 5 games straight....

Top players don't work like that. Renaslam is right....for the first time in Hingis' career, she is not the best player in Switzerland.

Sadly, I think you're right about that (unless she really has her eyes set on trying for the FO one more time, in which case she'll probably stick around).

Did anyone see this match? Did she get outplayed in sets 1 and 3, or just make some bad errors at inopportune times?

Schnyder was so dominant that when she served for the match at 5-3, she opened the game with a service winner, followed by a backhand down the line winner and a forehand cross court winner to get to match point.

She then spun in a 99 mph serve down the middle for an ace to end the match, which took 2 hours and 36 minutes.

Patty has tons of talent, but she doesn't have the mental strength. I wish she did because she would much more successful then she is. I think she could win Slams if she always played well. Anyway, to be completely random, Patty looks so much like the actress Hayley Mills.

SO why Williams Serena and venus have not many played matches but win the big tournaments anyway. While the others play to death. Serena does not care warming up tournament before US open. Just only one tournament is enough. Serena is fantastic.

TO pay a lot for good coach . That`s why she does not want. She saves money or her pricemoney is not enough to hire a couch. Hingis account is deficit.

Unbelievable Hingis nowadays always loses to Schnyder... :o

If people start asking whether or not Venus is finished as a top player, shouldn't we ask the same question about Hingis at first?
