Ana in 2007 is much better than in 2006, and in 2006 at US Open hardcourts series tournaments she won her first career tier-I and Ana is overall winner of US Open 2006 series.

So we expect of her to win again atleast one US Open series tournament (hope tier-I again), to reach TOP3 overall position at USO series ranking (hope #1 again) and to have much more success at US Open than in last two seasons (this is most important).

Of course we all want to see her 100% ready and healthy - especialy after all this knee problems at Wimbledon.

AJDE ANA

Ajde Ana! :rocker2:

I really have a good feeling about US Open this year. But on the top of everything I hope she's 100% healthy and I hope she can start her campaign in San Diego, but it's not sure as of now.

Btw, Ana is not scheduled to play Los Angeles.I think she is sheduled to play Stanford(II), San Diego(I) and Toronto(I) before US Open... but because her knee problems Stanford (tier-II) is in doubt now.

I hope she enters New Haven late, she would be #1 or #2 seed.

BuTtErFrEnA
Jul 14th, 2007, 02:23 PM
it all depends on if Ana is a player who needs lots of matches going into tournies..if she does then its not enough...if she doesn't then she will be fine with just the couple matches the 2 tournies offer..plus at the US Open she'll get a fairly comfortable draw given her seeding so she should easily defend her points :)

But if her knee will be OK at US Open, i will be very happy.

Ana will spend few more days in Serbia, then she's off
to Spain for 10-day rehabilitation. If everything goes
well, she'll start practicing in two weeks, in which case
she'll try to enter Los Angeles, and will play as many
tournaments as possible, even thinking about New Haven.

The Dexter service is still at 100%!!! (or should I better not say that?).
Really not bad for a first match. Now against Lucie. If Ana plays defensive again, she will get into trouble. If she's her aggressive self again then I really believe she will win. Draw for a QF looks at least nicer. Anyway, congrats with the win and let it continue!!

AJDE ANA!!!

Dexter
Aug 9th, 2007, 04:02 PM
Generally Ana playing passively = asking for trouble. The reports say that she was tentative in return games, but on a postive note she also came to the net a couple of times. She needs to be aggressive vs Lucie no matter how well/bad her opponent is going to play. OTOH Lucie is a lefty and Ana generally struggles vs lefties. Anyhow I'm confident Ana can pull this one out.

Ajde Ana!!!

DAVAJ MKirilenko
Aug 9th, 2007, 04:24 PM
She indeed has to be aggressive. I really don't know why she changed her game in that way. Ok, maybe she makes less errors. But also less change to make winners. Her defense is actually one of her weaknesses, so she's making it easier now for the opponents.
If she again start like that then the same will happen as against Nicole and Venus at Wimbledon.
You see at the points she finally started to play more aggressive, she came back into the match. Against Venus it was too late.
COMMON ANA, just start like that. Don't make it harder for yourself. It's also very frustrating for me to watch that. It's just so unnecessary.

Dexter
Aug 10th, 2007, 01:21 AM
Ana destroyed Lucie 62 62! :bolt:
Ana was pretty much in control of the match since she broke in the opening game from 40-0 down. Only 1 BP faced (and saved of course), 81% of pts won behind 1st serve (serving at 65%) and 59 % of pts won behind 2nd serve. 2 aces & 3 DFs... I hope it was more of Ana playing great, than Lucie making errors. Now vs good friend, Masza Kirilenko in the QF!

Ajde Ana!!!

what needs to happen for ana to be a top 4 seed at uso?Hmmm... I was just sitting outside trying to figure out scenarios when it might happen. ;) Winning LA would help things... if she gets to the final she's new #4, but next week she defends 300 pts from Montreal, while Swieta defends nothing. So basically Ana needs to win LA & Montreal back to back to be seeded #4 at US Open. Oh and she still might be overtaken by Czakwetadze (if Russian wins Rogers Cup :o). Anyway I don't think it's a big deal for Ana whether she's #4 or #5.

The fact she wanted and got the WC into LA makes me think Toronto is on her mind. Will be an interesting first test (defending a tier 1,having something to lose) Lets hope she can keep the one match at a time focus shes had all summer long. Definitely looking good at LA thus far.

Fantastic comeback in the 1st set from 1-4 and a BP for 1-5* and then she won 7 straight games! :worship: A bit of a concentration lapse when she was serving for it for the 1st time at 64 *5-2, but it can be forgiven, I guess. ;) Now vs Jelena most likely in the SF tomorrow.

R1 - Bye
R2 - Bye
R3 - Bye
QF - Bye
SF - Henin

Because no Masha and Anna C in Toronto, Ana have chances after LA win to win USO series again with Toronto and New Haven (with WC) final, but now she must win against Henin already in SF.

Our Beauty deserve double $$$ at USO if win USO series.

I don't think Ana has more than 1 BYE in Toronto. ;) She might be exhausted after LA, but well if she wants to be #1 she has to play lots of matches and be fit, so that's no excuse. But yeah, her draw looks okay until SF, when she's gonna meet Justine most likely (and I hope so too). I think Ana has a better shot at Justine in the SF than in the F. First things first, final of LA. :)

I can say it even more simpel. If Ana wins it and Jelena won't get in the SF, then Ana is number 3!!!

No Ana on ES today. Not hard to guess if you know that Lena is playing. YEEZ, can she ever play a normal match?

What a torture... I thought Ana would play around 8pm... It's almost 10pm and Ana won't play soon. :weirdo:

Same scoreline as vs Hantuchova, except Hantuchova was at least Top10 then.

Ana just needs rest before US Open. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over this result.

i would :tape:I would if it was second round of LA or 1st round of US Open. Then yeah definitely... and I would if it was next year. Ana needs to learn how to save energy and not get that exhausted. Surely the effort from the SF and the final took a lot out of her. Remember how she struggled last year in the early rounds of US Open and how it ended?

Without a dish or extended cable package it's pretty difficult to get any early-round coverage down here,so I only followed the match on the real-time scoreboard. With her victory in L.A.,Ana had been blazing HOT until she was snuffed out easily by the petite Asian butterfly. If you actually saw the match, what do you feel is/are the reason(s) for the loss?....Nothing against Zi Yan,but I don't expect Ana to be neatly gift-wrapped and sealed up in a pink bow by such a low-ranked player unless there's some sort of injury that explains it.:(

So. what's the damage? In points and ranking. Anyone? She's at #5 and nobody can take away it from her. 2847 about 250 over Czakwetadze. We'll see how many pts Swieta & Jelena will take.

I watched the match and it was pretty bad , RG final bad. It's disappointing that she can't compose herself yet no matter the opponent and occasion but she is still 19 so it can improve

At this point I think Ana has little chance of winning tournaments back to back... and in fact getting far in Toronto would more hurt and help. It will change in the future I'm sure.

First of all , Yan Zi played well and didn't make mistakes. As for Ana, she was just ultra aggressive to her detriment. Too many wild mistakes, too flat shots especially on defense, poor serving and finally no game plan. She just didn't allow herself into the game, she didn't allow Yan to make mistakes

Too many wild mistakes, too flat shots especially on defense, poor serving and finally no game plan. She just didn't allow herself into the game, she didn't allow Yan to make mistakes Thanks for the input and,of course, you guys are right:we DO need to remember that she's only 19.Although these younger ladies come up with some amazing results sometimes,in the other big-time sports--baseball,basketball,hockey,etc.--it's rare to find a guy who can even PLAY at the major-league level. The excellent ones who DO make it at that age don't really reach full maturity until they've played for a few seasons.

She's such a sweetie:angel: that it's just a little vexing to see her fail even on a small scale...and NOOOO,it's not simple male horniness because Dushevina is virtually as hot as Ana and it doesn't bother me too much when Vera loses. There are lots of women who are very conceited and Ana absolutely OBLITERATES most of them looks-wise.I enjoy seeing her gentle nature rewarded with success and can only imagine what a great role model she is for young Serbian girls(even though her beauty:hearts: :hearts: :hearts: will be hard for them to duplicate).

She looked tired, flat footed and her timing was off. Yan played well.

I kind of glad she didn't go deep into this tournament, she needs to rest up and prepare for the USO. I really, really wnat her to go deep at the USO.:bounce:

I really, really wnat her to go deep at the USO.:bounce: We can take SOME consolation that she already won this tourney last year when it was held in Montreal...and perhaps you're right, maybe it will rejuvenate her for the U.S. Open if she gets some rest ahead of it(even though a fundamentally-poor loss can stifle your momentum sometimes). It might give Ana some extra motivation if she received some passionate kisses from her male fans in northern Mexico:devil: ;then again, that might be just selfishness on my part;) .
