Venus said that Serena told her if Venus can't win Wimbledon for herself, win it for her (Serena). And Venus said she will. I thought that was so sweet.

ESPN2. She was just invited to their studio to comment on her great performance against Sharapova yesterday and her win today against Kutzy.

Every time they bring Venus into the studio to talk, I can't help but smile the whole time she is talking. She is so nice and so funny sometimes...gotta love V!

She said that Serena was clearly not 100% physically and that there should be no insinuations about her overdramatizing becuase she is a good sportswoman and atleast she fought and did not retire.

btw, what network was she commentating for?

ESPN. They waited till a break in the Nadal match to talk about her own. Meanwhile, she displayed promise, skill in offering an insider's perspective, and loads of charm.

She said that she admired Rafael Nadal because he does anything to win and that she had alot of respect for Kuzzy's game.

Also said (after Nadal lost off a drop shot, I think) that the balls this year "are just not coming up." Yes, the courts are slow, but furthermore with balls not coming up you just don't have many options when you're facing a drop shot.

I hope someone uploads this little bit on youtube or dailymotion and posts it here. Love Venus, she has such a natural grace and likability.

Who doesn't admire Nadal. The guys is so awesome. I wasn't a big fan of his at the start of is career, but the guy has so much game, and has a great personality. It is hard not to admire him.

what part of the match did she come in on so i can run to MTF and get it..

Hmmm. 5th set: somewhere around 3-1, with Youzhny serving to prevent going down 2 breaks.

meh, I don't care for Nadal or Novak, prefer Roger. Like Venus, he is quite simply a class act :worship:

...on the Nadal Youshny match.

Love her laugh.

I was VERY impressed. She's a natural in the commentary booth, and very refreshing and intelligent. I especially liked her description of why she liked to watch Rafa play- that she liked the way he fights for everything. I'd like to hear more of her in the booth. They could start with replacing marbles-in-the-mouth reformed thug Chris Fowler, or Mary Joe (who pronounces the words "angle" and "Hingis" with a soft "g" like the word "hanger", among many other bastardizations of the English language). Venus Williams is not only literate and intelligent (and stays quiet during a rally), she has the perfect tone and diction for commentary.

Here's the video: They don't show the part when she was commentating on Nadal/Youzhny's match.
