Well I'm glad in a way. But Serena's injury must be serious. :sobbing:

It could be about Venus saving her energy for singles; she'll have to play 4 days in a row if she wins the title. No need to add doubles matches into the mix.

I have a feeling they might still continue to play doubles.

The only possibility that they would play this doubles match was for both of them to be beaten in singles today!!

It was announced on the BBC.
I'm pretty sure they have. Serena knows she would just make her left wrist/thumb worse.

Not surprising considering Serena's injuries. It's best for her to not make them worse.

This is a smart decision for Venus and Serena. Serena is injured, or at least prone to a big one, while Venus needs to focus on singles given that she has to play so much in so little time.

This was the best move both in terms of Vee's singles success and Serena's injury. Hopefully they'll play together soon...

This is good for Venus as she needs to conserve all her energy now for the singles :bounce:
