TFan1156 Jul 3rd, 2007, 07:25 AM Quitter. It was different at the FO, wasn`t it? When booed by the crowd for her intimidation tactics, she then went away meekly and quietly like a sheep to slaughter. Unlike today she had a tough opponent to deal with, and a crowd not for but against her. Under such cirumstances you find out what someone is really made of and Serena sure failed that day.... MrSerenaWilliams Jul 3rd, 2007, 07:30 AM In the words of Timon and Pumba, you've got to your behind IN THE PAST. Let it go, Justine is a great champion and awesome clay court player. Serena admitted that she played horribly. Get over it. Justine now has 3 straight French Open titles, but she had to win 2 more matches after that, so instead of focusing on how badly one injured player performed, praise the player who did well. :o That was such a petty and unnecessary post. Just bringing a bit of balance to the discussion amigo...;) See Serena thrives on intimidation and when it got reversed on her, crowd sanctioning her antics, Justine putting in her face, she wilted. Is something to that. Ghis Jul 3rd, 2007, 07:43 AM a wonderful actress... topi11 Jul 3rd, 2007, 07:46 AM die hard tennis master lilimi Jul 3rd, 2007, 07:49 AM fighter, champion? Is something to that. But to call her a quitter flat out is :o Here's some recent (last 30 tourneys or so) examples of Serena's resolve 2004 Wimbledon SF 2004 YEC SF/F 2005 AO SF/F 2005 Wimbledon 1st/2nd Rd 2006 AO 1st Rd 2007 AO QF 2007 Miami F (against Henin I might add ;)) so, she's DEFINITELY not a quitter, by ANY standards. She might come out flat one day, but she's not a quitter. a wonderful actress... She is.
