They said that they took out that thing on Court 1 after FedeX won his match...

OMG.. THAT IS ALL WHAT THEY DID FOR 360 DAYS..!!!
THEY TOOK IT OFF INCH BY INCH!!!

They should have someone work on that roof, while they were removing that thing...!!!
so that once that thing has been removed, they could have easily
installed that moving roof thing..!!!

now... they had to refund the tickets...
pay a million pounds to the winner..!!!
hahaha.. serves them right...

They have no floodlights, no roof...

and now they are taking away that Lovely Graveyard Court??!!!
totally ridiculous...
make court 3 bigger, with a detachable roof...
and a court with good water drainage...

or better yet...build a Stadium entirely made out of Glass and Steel...
of course.. the court has to be grass....

You are not well informed. There is much more done. Check out: http://aeltc.wimbledon.org/en_GB/about/guide/longtermplan.html

And for God's sake: Get over it!!!

Wimbledon has rain, Wimbledon has Middle Sunday and Wimbledon has no roof. And thats ok.

One roof isn't going to help this tournament. It will give a chosen few a huge advantage of not waiting for rain to stop.
Players who aren't deemed Centre Court worthy will be screwed.

The people who benefit most from the roof at Wimby are the TV people. The primary motivation for the roof is to ensure the TV sponsors always will have some live tennis to broadcast. If they can guarantee live tennis w/o interuption, they can get more money from the sponsors.

Wimby has survived how many years w/o a roof, and somehow managed to pull off a tournament? The roof is a convienence, not a necessity.

They should build a roof over court 1 as well. It would be nice to see Court 2 go and expand Court 3. 3 roofs would be awesome, but expensive and time consuming. The whole Court 3 idea will never fly though.

I cant believe its taking them 3 years, what do the workers do work for 3 hours a day and then have a tea break. If this was really to be effective they would need the same thing on court one and something for court 2 as well.

You cannot expand Court 3. If they are ever going to redesign the southern outer courts they will have to destroy Courts 2 and 3 and replace it with a totally new court, and they would probably replace all the other courts there too as there's so little space between them right now.

They are moving court 2. A new court 2 will be built somewhere near where court 13 is now. It will be sunken into the ground. Court 2 will be pulled down on the outside courts on that but will be moved around to get more space. Like they did by getting rid of court 12.

On the roof section they actually pulled down one side of centre court and re-built it from the groud up. It meant having to take out a lot of seats aswell. they have to make sure its ready each year for the championships thats why its taking so long. Next year centre court will look similar to how it looked before then the year after the roof will be there.

One of the guys working at Wimbledon that I spoke to last week said that they were planning to put a roof on court 1 too, when they'd finished with centre court. Hope he was right.

Yeah yeah .... Did anyone think of climate change, No well the earth Climate is changeing, that means EXTREME wheather everywhere including LONDON England. So if your thinking that those idiots at Wimby are just installing a roof for sponsors, get your facts straight....

This will help for tv, but it will screw the players who aren't deemed Centre Court worthy.
