I know the men take into account the grass results of the previous two seasons, but do they do the same for women?

The ESPN people keep complaining about how Venus and Serena weren't bumped up more (even arguing that Venus/Serena should have been a top 4 doubles seed). If there is a formula, doesn't it not matter HOW wonderful the Williams sisters are, because the numbers simply don't push them up that high?

I hope I'm not the only one who is frustrated with this.

Yeah I'm frustrated but sorry I can't help with that answer, I'm a little confused myself.

For men there is a formula which takes acount of the previous two years of grass results, in the women's there is no formula, they just bump whoever they want. If the same formula they use for the men were to be used for the women, Serena would be bumped down, since her grass results from the two previous years was only a 3rd round in Wimbledon 2005, since she didn't play in 2006 and never plays other events on grass.
