Pierce said not to Fed Cup
( 05/07 - 10. 40) - Mary Pierce announced to Guy Forget that she will not be part of the team for Slovaquia-France's quarterfinal, which will take place in Bratislava on July 20 and 21.

For " personal reason", the winner of Roland-Garros 2000 made again false come back. The return in Fed Cup was already foreseen in Boenos Aires, in the first tour. Injured, Pierce had given up at the last moment.

Mary's last appearance in Fed Cup dates of finale 1997 and the success of France. Repeatedly, she had declared to want to return in team of France. But this new setback lets smooth a doubt over the chances to see again Pierce to defend the colours of hers country of adoption.

With Sandrine Testud retirement , which put an end to the career, Forget is going so to have to recompose his team. He will count naturally on Amelie Mauresmo and Nathalie Dechy. Emilie Loit, Stephanie Foretz and Virginia Razzano are candidates for the two other places.

Thanks a lot Saby.

It doesn't really tell us why she isn't playing though... I wonder if we will find out at one point.

Thanx SABY

I just hope also that Mary has a good reason about the FED CUP. As I would so dearly like to see her play for France again. And I hope that people won't jump down her throat if she has a good reason for not being able to play.

regards

Mark
