Martina Hingis is now assured a number 2 finish in singles by reaching the US Open final. Tamarine is assured the top spot, win or lose in the finals!

On the doubles side, Lindsay and Lina, who reach the finals along with Mandula and Schynder who also reached the finals will both be the top 2 teams once the rankings are revealed. The battle for the number 1 ranking will be on at the finals of the US Open, whomever wins will be crowned the new number 1!

Kloulk, you already signed up as Elena Likhovtseva. Do you still want to be her? You set up your surfaces as hard, clay, indoor, grass.

There is a spot in qualifying for you in the Brasil Ladies Open. Because hard is ur best surface and cuz Brasil is hard courts, you have 103 points to break over three sets.

For example: Your points could be
Set 1 50
Set 2 0
Set3 53

You decide how you want to break up the points. And then you send it to etatour@hotmail.com

I have a "formula" that I set up which spits out results!

Any other questions? I hope that helped!

Actually WR, I had no idea, I'm simply a player, leave all the points and such up to you
Martina is estatic in her Open win, a feat she is determined to repeat ASAP, but feels Tamarine is modest in her belief, Reguardless of the fact she has lost to the number 2 and 3 in successive weeks, she is always there, something the number 2 and 3 cannot say...you are a worthy number 1 Tamarine

The new ranking point system shouldn't be used until 2002 starts because they are the 2002 ranking system!

Tennisace
Nov 24th, 2001, 02:48 AM
The reason why I chose to implement the new points starting with next week's events is the result of expanding to two events. The reason why the real tour changed the points was to give less weight to the lower tier events. For our game, you only have to win 4 matches to win the title and well one can easily rack up points by playing only lower tier events.

In addition I thought that part of the problem with the old rankings is that there is not enough weight on the higher events and thus if someone played all the lower tier events, we could end up with a similiar like No. 1 Martina Hingis who doesn't win any big titles but the smaller ones.

Does that make sense? Plus, for the lower tier events, especially that of the Tier III level, if you win one match you receive quarterfinals points, which I think is unfair to players who play the higher tiers. I don't know that's what I think right now.

Tell me if it makes any sense.

Now, I presume you are referring to The real Martina Hingis and not ETA Martina Hingis who holds 2 of 3 tournaments played including a grand slam

Yes I meant the REAL Hingis! Plus the ETA Hingis won only 2 of 5 events! You'll be missed love!

Yeah, but the ETA Hingis was only a spectator in the first 2 events, so they don't count

Venus Williams Ends Doubles Relationship with Russian Starlet Anna Kournikova and is Looking for a Regular Doubles Partner for 2002

a statement from the American: Anna Kournikova has done nothing since the tour began earlier of this year. i honestly thought as the weeks pass, her progress would improve, but she has shown again and again that she can't handle the rigors of the tour. I need someone who can contribute to the relationship instead of me giving all the directions and carrying the team. When the season comes to an end, our relationship will officially be over. I wish nothing but the best for Anna and her partner.

Germany appears to be a fairly good tennis nation, as it has 3 stars within the top 15 in the FWTA Ranks...

1) Steffi Graf at 8
2) Anke Huber at 9
3) Barbara Schett at 13
